
The DABA Elias Dupuis Memorial Knockout Cup has progressed to its semi-final round following a series of quarterfinal games held at the Massacre Indoor Sports Complex. DABA stated in a press release that the week’s events featured competitive basketball and notable performances from players across Dominica.
The organization reported that in the first quarterfinal game on Tuesday night, the Paix Bouche Super Eagles defeated the West Coast Ballers with a score of 68-49. Sharmar Felicite was the leading scorer for the Super Eagles with 20 points, while Dartanian Lataille contributed 14 points and Caelan Paul added 13 points. For the Ballers, Hassan Robinson scored 16 points, with support from Sherron Vidal (11 points) and Shaelon Vidal (8 points).
The second game saw Falcons 1 achieve a 76-44 victory over the Police Sports Club. Meshack Duboulay led the scoring for Falcons 1 with 21 points. Other significant contributors included Karim Daniel with 17 points, Kiefer Francis with 11 points, and Ronnie Magloire with 10 points. Josh Telemacqe (12 points) and Jervon Christmas (10 points) were the top scorers for the Police team.
Quarterfinal play continued on Thursday, with the 767 SC Dominators securing a place in the semi-finals by defeating the BAA Sharks 73-53. Tilon Birmingham was the highest scorer for the Dominators with 22 points. MC Ray Edwards, Wakame Fabien, and Rene Williams each added 9 points. The Sharks’ scoring was distributed among Jaiden Scotland, Christian Scotland, and Jimmal Peltier, who each scored 11 points.
The final quarterfinal game on Friday between the D-Treads Blazers and Dr. Darroux Falcons 2 was closely contested. With four minutes remaining, the score was tied. The Blazers, who are the reigning Premier League champions, concluded the game with a 15-2 scoring run to secure an 80-67 win. Lyndson Lunch scored 20 points for the Blazers, while Dretsuan Lee added 19 points and Maxwell Birmingham contributed 17 points. Despite Zack Bastien’s performance of 39 points for the Falcons 2, it was not sufficient to overcome the Blazers.
