The Flavours of the World Festival, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Stadium Forecourt, has announced a new feature for this year’s celebration of global cuisine and cultural diversity. The organizers report that the event will include the inaugural Culinary Competition, in partnership with Archipelago Wine & Spirits, aimed at highlighting innovation, creativity, and international culinary influences.
Participants in the competition will be tasked with preparing innovative dishes using selected ingredients, including Premium Rainforest Shrimp, Octopus, or Squid. They will also incorporate Riscossa Olive Oil and Grace Coconut Milk into their recipes. Additionally, each dish must feature an authentic ingredient from the contestant’s country of origin, along with a local ingredient sourced from Dominica.
The competition involves a timed preparation segment held during the festival, with dishes evaluated based on taste, presentation, originality, and technical proficiency. A panel composed of renowned chefs and culinary experts will serve as judges for the event.
“It’s a first of its kind for Dominica and this event promises great excitement as it showcases the vibrant culinary talent of the competitors and highlights the versatility of world-class ingredients available right here in Dominica,” stated the team.
