Fond St. Jean woman dies of natural causes say police

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) says the death of a 41-year-old Fond St. Jean woman is being treated as a sudden passing of natural causes despite contradictory claims on social media.

According to the police, Lilian Thomas passed away at her residence on August 16, 2021.

Following her passing, allegations of foul play were widely circulated. However, the police clarified with Dominica News Online (DNO) that such was not the case.

They further informed that Thomas suffered a long term illness which may have resulted in her death and as such the matter is being treated as a sudden death  pending a post mortem.

A coroner’s inquest will also be conducted.

If there are no signs of foul play while investigating a death, young, middle age or old, the police usually categories the cause of death as normal (natural causes). Why don’t folks allow the police to do their jobs and stop all this speculation that amounts to nothing? Let’s wait on the autopsy to determine the real cause of death.

DNO, this is just a suggestion going forward. Why don’t you do some serious fact checking before publishing anything especially from the Death Squad Force that is most infamous for distorting the truth or covering it up.

To this day the autopsy of Kerwin Prosper’s death while in the custody of the police is Dominica’s best kept secret. The circumstances by which Mr. Choksi ended up on the shores of Dominica have been buried under tons of concrete and steel by the police.

Any statement put out in the public domain by the Force of Evil is to distract the public from the truth.. DNO your credibility will be forever tarnished if you continue to publish statements from this discredited organization without first doing some serious fact checking.

I have told you before, you are a joker. You should be the last person to come on DNO and talk about credibility, before you criticize and judge others about credibility, what about your credibility. Do you fact-check the things you write about in your comments, lol. When you say “To this day the autopsy of Kerwin Prosper’s death while in the custody of the police is Dominica’s best kept secret” really. The matter has to be heard in Court, don’t you think that the autopsy report will be presented as evidence in the trial, what secret are you talking about, as to the Choksi matter, it’s not over why not wait the truth will be reveled, so long for your lecture about credibility.

You’re overly simplistic. The two issues that you have mentioned to castigate me clearly show your ignorance. You put your puerile cognitive level on full display for the whole world to see.

Hardy you should be shun. He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is ignorant, shun him. You and Lizforsatan are two peas in the same pod. You deserve each other.

So many negative comments on the lady’s death have some sympathy for the family. May she rest in peace. May God have pity and mercy on you all for all these negative comments.

“…….the matter is being treated as a sudden death pending a post mortem.”
I think the police has this backward. They should regard any sudden death as suspicious until it is confirmed to be by natural causes. Doing it the way they are suggests, if in fact it is later confirmed to be a homicide, precious time will have elapsed, possibly resulting in evidence being destroyed and reducing the chance of a conviction on a murder charge.

Years ago, a person I know died suddenly. She had been suffering from a heart condition for years. We all sort of knew what killed her. On discovering his wife dead, the husband called 911. The police came to the house and he made sure no one got close to the body until the corona came by and declared the death to be by natural causes.

What part of the article are people missing? The death is ” IS BEING TREATED” as of natural causes pending an autopsy meaning the police has not yet made a final determination. SIMPLE UNDERSTANING to me.

When someone dies so suddenly the correct thing for the police to do is to assume all possibilities. Gather as much information as possible while the evidence is fresh until the autopsy is done. By they assuming that it might be from natural causes shows how untrained, unprepared, unprofessional, unqualified and ill-equipped they are.

The police in Dominica are just a gang of dotards who only know how to use brute force on unarmed civilians. Solving murders and other crimes is above their head..

” Was an enquiry made , were fingerprints taken in the house,”

Someone died; if it is a suspicious death, suspicion that it is murder; why would finger print be taken unless there are signs of forced entry?

Or; if there is a prime suspect not accustom of visiting the home; extracting fingerprints could revel many different finger print; besides fingerprints are not very reliable; in the developed world of technology, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the order of the day, it one (100%) reliable.

I must agree with you if you know for certain that she was in good health, and took sick and died could not constitute long term illness.

    Nevertheless; sudden death do occur!

    Dear DNO

I am disheartened to read your statement regarding Lillian. Lillian had a Brief illness, fell sick on Saturday died Sunday Night, how could this be a long term illness.

Further no Autopsy has been done, how could the police or DNO conclude that she died from Natural Causes..

This is the height of ridiculousness. Was an enquiry made , were fingerprints taken in the house, will they check for sexual violence on her body..just smh , just smh.

Please note Lillian has a voice

ADMIN: We have not come to that conclusion, we are reporting on the information the police have stated. The article also states that these findings are pending a post mortem and coroner’s inquest.

DNO, I suggest going forward you ought to check and double check those police report. If you can’t do that refrain from printing the information they give you. You as well as all of us know that this force can’t be trusted, the same way that PM can’t be trusted, ho by the way instructs them what to say and what not.
DNO, I trust you have learned a valuable lesson.

Imagine you live in a country where you just CANNOT trust the words of the Prime Minister, Ministers of his Cabinet,, the Police, the Ministry of Health, the DPP, Magistrates, Judges, Attorney General, Permanent Secretaries. Everybody associated with the ruling administration is considered dishonest and untrustworthy.

Here someone suddenly dies. The public strongly believes that foul play was involved. The Police refute this. The problem is that nobody believes the police. Why? They have proven themselves to be butchers of truth and a thuggish group of brutalizers.

How can a country where the vast majority of citizens distrust their government be successful? NEVER! Change is needed now.

Do really believe that it is only the Government that the people of Dominica distrust. Let us start with you, should we trust everything you say in your daily comments, and what about the Political parties with their spin doctors and the different radio host. Example, your present comment, you are just reporting what you hear you do not live in vicinity.

The opening statement of your comment is just another of you concocted imagination, nothing different. You know, even DNO gets their story second hand, it’s always what is reported to them by the police rather than they send a reporter to Fond St. Jean to carry out their own investigation and report their findings. Do you think that by reading the above story someone can ascertain the facts of this person cause of death and worst of all the Social Media REPORTERS. What’s sad, it’s the family of this person who has to read and hear all these innuendos, especially yours seeking Political millage for your own selfish need.

      • August 18, 2021

Gary, Ibo France has absolutely nothing to say! His constant babblings are extremely fictitious and outdated repetitions

That whole piece of writing of his above came directly from a CRITICALLY CARNAL MIND; that state of mind is an enemy to even its own counterpart–those who agree with it don’t know what they are doing.

Who in their right state of mind, in this World, should care to pay attention to so much rubbish, far more to try to trust its words?

“They further informed that Thomas suffered a long term illness which may have resulted in her death and as such the matter is being treated as a sudden death pending a post mortem.” I am not say that this may not be the case but thats the lazy explanation. How about: the police inspected the area and questioned neighbors and friends and there was no immediate evidence of foul play. The deceased is known to have suffered from chronic illness but cause of death cannot be determined at this time. We await the coroner’s inquest into the sudden death of the young lady.
It is sort of prejudice to say she had long illness like yall made up your minds that what it is. What if it is not? How then will go back to process the scene when it is contaminated?

I congruent statements: long-term illness and sudden death.
