The 4th edition of the much-anticipated Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl has been officially launched.
The event, which forms part of the Independence Celebrations, is scheduled to take place from October 20-23 at the Botanic Gardens.
This year special emphasis will be placed on ‘Honey’.
“This marks the fourth edition Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl , an event that has gradually found its rightful place as a household name and cultural product in Dominica,” Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence, Fenella Wenham-Sheppard said during the ceremony held on Thursday. “Last year Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl attracted approximately 9,100 paying patrons. This year, we are seeking to surpass 2024 by 50 percent.”
According to her, the ministries of labor and tourism within the public and private sectors are proud to recommit to this vision.
“Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl is not merely an event. It is a platform for commerce, exposure, entrepreneurship, networking, reconnection, entertainment, cultural affirmation, and nation branding,” Wenham-Sheppard stated.
She added that over these four days she expects Dominicans from every corner of the island and visitors from abroad to meander through “our village, our Ti-Vilaj of music, food, crafts. storytelling, demonstrations, and immersive experiences.”
