A Grand Bay man, Dimetrie Beix, appeared before Chief Magistrate Candia Carrette-George where bail was denied to him following a charge of possession of 100 live rounds of ammunition at the Canefield airport.
On March 16, 2021, Beix pleaded not guilty to four charges preferred against him by the Police and Customs.
According to the charges, it is alleged that the accused on March 11, 2021, at the Canefield airport did import certain ammunition namely 50 rounds of 9 mm and 50 rounds of .40 ammunition without being a holder of a firearm import license.
He was also charged with concealing the said ammunition in a container holding goods of different descriptions, and false declaration as the accused is said to have knowingly or recklessly made and signed, customs declaration of Dominica Customs and Excise Simplified Declaration Form Waybill #87, which is false material.
Attorney for Beix, David Bruney, made an application for bail, however, the prosecution objected to the bail application.
Chief Magistrate Carrette-George then ruled that given the quantity of ammunition that Beix is said to have in his possession, bail was denied. The accused is remanded in custody at the Dominica State Prison.
The trial is expected to commence on June 28, 2021.
Lose him in jail
Grand Bay AGAIN!!!!!!
Bullets are useless without a gun so we can safely say either he or some people/ person has a gun(s) ready and waiting. Interesting how many guns the police are discovering these days. If we follow the trends then we know something is boiling in Dca and its not looking good. Wow!
DNO you made mention of Chief Magistrate Candia Carrette-George, but I want to be sure who that chief magistrate is. So, is chief Magistrate Candia Carrette – George, the daughter of the former police commissioner Cyril Carrette, who did not charge anyone in the firebombing of the house of GON Immanuel, on Christmas day of 2009?
DNO, Is Chief magistrate Candia Carrette- George, the present wife of Pastor Eddie George of the Portsmouth Pentecostal church that the famous Bobbles serves in? If the answer to any or all of the above is yes then all I will say is Help us God.
Fully agree with the chief magistrate….
Seem like the penalties for those offences are just too lenient, so some people dont get it…
Let the full brunt of the law made to bear upon him.
Fine him and confine him!!
Who knows in whose butt or pampalam one of those bullets could enter?????
