I’ve seen that an excerpt from a letter that I sent to the Prime Minister on June 17th, 2022, was projected on a screen at a Dominica Labour Party (DLP) political meeting in Massacre on the night of April 11th, 2026, and that an image of it was later shared on the WhatsApp status of Melissa Skerrit.
So let me now respond.
First, I stand by those words.
They were written in reference to the Prime Minister’s leadership in the immediate aftermath of Tropical Storm Erika and Hurricane Maria—a period of immense national challenge, where steady leadership and national unity mattered greatly. I am incredibly proud of how our entire country came together, got back on our feet, supported each other, and rebuilt Dominica.
But that statement reflects gratitude for leadership during the specific period 2016–2018, now nearly eight years ago. Since then, I have written more than a dozen letters to the Prime Minister, raising very serious concerns, offering perspectives, and attempting, in good faith, to contribute to the national conversation about where we are and where we are going.
So while the excerpt is accurate, it is not complete.
And context matters.
Given that a portion of a private letter to the Prime Minister has now been made public, and used in a public political setting as an endorsement—and noting that until now I have chosen not to make this or other correspondence public, out of respect for the Prime Minister and out of concern for the potential implications for the country—I think it is only fair, in the spirit of transparency, that the Prime Minister release the full letter, along with all correspondence from 2019 to today. If that is not done, I will, at an appropriate time, ensure that the full context is made available.
On matters of such national importance, including serious concerns about non-compliant activity and very poor levels of governance—with real and detrimental consequences for our country, our treasury, and our people—the people of Dominica deserve the full picture, and my correspondence will help provide that context. I want to say that I stand by all of my statements— whether on electoral reform or voter registration, the Prime Minister’s leadership eight years ago, our tourism and CBI industries, or matters of governance, accountability, and transparency. They are sincere and heartfelt, and I remain open to discussing them anywhere and at any time.
Lastly, I am encouraged that my endorsement, though long expired, still matters. I trust that thoughtful and honest contributions will continue to matter as we move forward.

Roosevelt and his wife twist everything, even a genuine compliment, into political expediency. This is the modus operandi of dishonest and corrupt politicians.
If Roosevelt and his party are desirous of public paise and commendation, provide your score card. Show the people how much your administration has raised the living standard of all Dominicans since you have occupied the the apex position of government.
Only a despicable person who is devoid of morality and decorum, will manipulate a genuine comment of appreciation and admiration after a crisis, for cheap political aggrandizement.
This children Malay and Cartoon show will only get Matt excited so he could have a new show to introduce to his Q95 audience. Otherwise this open letter says nothing new
Bingo!! Well, said.
This particular radio host each day sensationalized everything for ratings no matter how inconsequential the item may be.
There are so many more significant issues to weigh in on but he gives wings to ‘nutten burgers’. Excuse him for he is shallow. However, he is handsomely admired by his fans.
I’m happy that the likes of Mr Nassieth is finally opening his mouth but unfortunately, it’s too little too late, because to me they allowed Skerrit to destroy the foundation and pillars of the country before they opened their mouths. The way I see it is like knowing a person was going to be murdered but instead of trying to help stop it everyone stayed quiet and when the crime was about to be committed they went into hiding with perks from the criminals and now they realized that they could have helped stopping the crime, they finally talking .
In my opinion in as much as Mr Nassief is calling on Skerrit to release the entire letter is just laughable. Mr Nassief, did Skerrit or Melissa give you time to release part of the letter they released? If not why not just go ahead and at least release part of the letter so we could see the context? Why behave like a chicken and give Skerrit time? To me it seems as if you are giving Skerrit time to call you for a secret deal

I would buy all of you and get rid of the disclaimer.
Yea, he is certifiably bored. It is his season, let Gregor expend his energy. Soon, he will, like any toddler with too many toys, get fed up and find another source of distraction.
Why the manipulation tactics by the political directorate? Why the Failure to accept constructive criticism from Mr Gregor Nassief? There just seems to be deep-seated insecurities, fear of failure, or high shame sensitivity, leading to defensiveness and missed growth opportunities by the political directorate. There desperately needs to be separating self-worth from performance, practicing active listening, delaying immediate reactions, and viewing feedback as a tool for improvement rather than a personal attack.
The nastiefs should know that playing with dogs can cause one to catch fleas!!! The nastiefs should also know that putting power and the leadasship of the island 🏝 in the hands of an immature, incompetent, unqualified and unprofessional boy is dangerous!!! I’m not at all surprised that it would backfire and the time would come for this present episode!!!
This man spent most of his life outside of Dominica, somewhere in Latin America. That is why he never registered to vote,he being over 60 years. He had no use to vote a government as he had no use for them.A few years ago because of the workload his deceased father left his brother he returned and settled in Dominica.Although he is a supporter of UWP he has never voted them. This guy has never supported nor played a part in getting this present into office,DLP is in office without this man support. His many open letters to the Prime minister is useless,he can write 1,000 more open letters to the Prime Minister, the majority of the Dominican people do not care a rat’s behind. We will register,we will confirm and we will vote DLP into office next election. He registering does not make a difference.
Very well said! Money talks.
@ Labour Power… where are you now.. in GrandBay?? Or all your years in New York..
GrandBay?
What is in GrandBay?
I was saying yesterday that I’d like to see GrandBay.
Very expensive by sea, I was told.

Alas, the honeymoon is over and the marriage is in crisis, but the Dear Leader is still trying to score some points with an old photo in the wedding album. Nassief, meanwhile is having none of it. He has moved on from praise to profound concern, sending a dozen warnings and refusing to live in the past. He is standing on principle and refusing to play along. Methinks, focusing on one letter of gratitude while ignoring twelve letters of warning is a desperate move. But as my grandma would say: kai poule kwazay – the secrets are coming out. Can this relationship be saved?
