The Dominica Athletics Association announced that a contingent of 15 individuals will represent Dominica at the final Carifta Trials in Martinique this Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15.
An audio release by the association shared that the team includes team manager Mr. Philip White, technical officer Walson Paquette, media personnel, and female chaperone Judy Larroche, safeguarding officer Antoine Lewis, national coaches Mr. Naby Wallace and Mr. Godwin Dorsett.
The nine qualified athletes are J’Michael Titre, Keyoni Esprit, Akisha Luke, Kedella Victor, Omari Caesar, Shariah Lewis, Delanie George, Zayden Cornelius, and Kuma John-Baptist.
In addition to the selected team, the Sparrows Athletics Club will be sending seven athletes who are vying for an opportunity to meet the national qualification standards for the 2026 Carifta Games. The Westmar Rangers will also participate with two athletes competing for qualification.
The Association also stated that trials serve a dual purpose, functioning both as a preparation meet for the qualified athletes and as a final opportunity to secure additional qualifiers for Team Dominica’s final contingent.
