Concerns are growing as several individuals have gone missing on the small neighboring island of Antigua and Barbuda, prompting police to issue a warning about the situation. In a statement released from St. John’s, the police described the recent cases reported to them as alarming.
Authorities are urging families to communicate their plans if they intend to leave their homes for an extended period. The public is also encouraged to report any missing persons to the police as soon as possible.
The police recently received three separate reports of missing individuals, including Keon Richards from Yorks. While the whereabouts of two other people have been determined, Keon’s location remains a mystery.
He was last seen on Wednesday, February 26, at his job at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort. His mother mentioned that their last conversation took place on February 18. Keon is described as 6 feet tall, with a brown complexion, and weighs approximately 200 pounds.
The police are currently searching various areas, using all available resources, in hopes of finding him.
Anyone with any information about Keon’s disappearance or his current whereabouts is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at (268) 462-3913 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline at 800-8477.
Additionally, law enforcement continues to seek further information about the disappearances of Orden “Passo” David, Donna-Marie Christian, and other missing individuals. If you have any details, please reach out to any police station or contact the Criminal Investigations Department at (268) 462-3913.
With so many residents disappearing without a clue I strongly surmise that there has to be a professional ring of expert criminals operating in the country.
What is sad and frightening that the Antigua Police Disservice has nothing in place to solve this mystery and allay the fears of the people. There needs to be a well thought out actionable plan.
When the echelon of the Police Service is mainly comprised of political appointees and the lowest of achievers leaving school, the solve rate of crime bounds to be problematic.
Crime affects everyone. Therefore, the whole of society should be involved in trying to arrest this alarming trend.
