Guyana election: US concerned over ‘electoral fraud’

The US and other countries say they are concerned by “credible allegations” of fraud in Guyana’s election.

US Western Hemisphere affairs official Michael Kozak said no candidate should declare victory or be sworn in “while serious questions remain”.

President David Granger was defending a narrow parliamentary majority against Irfaan Ali of the opposition PPP party.

Mr Granger declared victory, but observers said official results for a key region were not credible.

    I do not know the names of the other countries that are concerned about the election…but the US concern about fraud..please give me a break…satan cannot correct sin…

    Ah, here the mighty USA cares to get involved. What about Dominica? All you know as well as I do that we have had electoral issues here for 15 years plus. Why can’t the people of Dominica have fair elections? We not good enough? We not worthy? Our PM needs to be investigated ………
