In a tribute to the late Chairman of HHV Whitchurch and Company Limited, Gerry Aird, the company’s staff described him as a visionary leader whose legacy is woven into the fabric of the business he helped build and guide to excellence. Mr. Aird passed away peacefully at his residence on July 18, 2025.

“His unwavering dedication, humble demeanor, and quiet strength were a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with him,” the company’s statement read, echoing the deep respect and admiration held for the businessman.

Under his stewardship, HHV Whitchurch grew in both scope and reputation, grounded firmly in the values Mr. Aird cherished. Staff recalled how he instilled the belief that “every customer deserves respect, attention, and kindness,” a philosophy that shaped the company’s approach to service.

Though he was reserved about his generosity, those who knew him spoke warmly of the compassion that defined his life. “He gave not for recognition, but from the goodness of his heart,” the statement emphasized, recounting countless quiet acts of kindness. It added, “He was known for his calm presence and his ability to maintain balance in the face of challenges, a trait that made him both a respected leader and a trusted friend.”

Mr. Aird was also deeply committed to his faith as a devout Catholic, supporting his church and community with both time and talent. He contributed significantly to national development by volunteering with statutory organizations, earning him recognition not just as a corporate leader, but as a proud and devoted son of Dominica.

“As we come to terms with this great loss,” the company said, “we find solace in the memories he has left behind and the enduring legacy he has built. Mr. Aird touched countless lives with his integrity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to excellence.”

The staff of HHV Whitchurch, Ground Handlers Ltd, and Millennium Ventures Inc extend condolences to Mr. Aird’s children—Jason, Damian, and Renee—and their families.

“His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain a part of H.H.V Whitchurch & Co. Ltd. and in the hearts of all who knew him,” the tribute concluded. “May the Lord grant us strength, peace, and comfort as we remember and honor a truly remarkable man. May he rest in eternal peace.”
