
Investigations continue into a road traffic accident which claimed the life of 62-year-old Victor Jno Baptiste of Morne Rachette.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 7, 2026 about 10:15 PM, on the E.O Leblanc Highway in the vicinity of the Coulibistrie, Gell Leon area, and involved a Suzuki Escudo registration number PJ 959 owned and driven by Wendell Shillingford of Morne Rachette, who was at the time accompanied by Jno Baptiste.
Accordingly, the incident occurred whilst the vehicle was traveling in a southerly direction on the said road, where it flipped over. Jno Baptiste sustained grave injuries to his head and was transported to the St Joseph Health Center via Ambulance Services, where he was medically examined by a medical doctor.
The report stated further that he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at about 11: 55 that night.
The body was taken to a funeral home for safekeeping, awaiting a postmortem as investigations continue into the matter.

The St.Joseph police may be investigating the accident,as it happened in the St.Josephdistrict.The St.Joseph police district along the E O Leblanc highway is Coulibistrie,Morne Rachette,Natalie,Salisbury,Macoucherie,Mero,St.Joseph,Layou and Hillsborough.
