Communications Specialist of the Independent Regulatory Commission (IRC) Edona Jno Baptiste has announced that the IRC will hold a public consultation today to discuss the Dominica Electricity Services (DOMLEC) five-year investment plan and revenue requirement.
The consultation forms part of the IRC’s ongoing Electricity Tariff/Rate Review for DOMLEC and will take place at the Prevo Cinemall Executive Meeting Room from 3:30 PM.
“The focus will be on DOMLEC’s investment activities, and its revenue needed to pay all its costs,” Jno Baptiste said.
According to her, the ultimate objective is to seek stakeholders’ input and reach concensus regarding the determination on both matters.
“If there are any comments or concerns raised IRC will address them before it makes its final decisions during the consultation period,” she noted.
Jno Baptiste continued, “This will bring the IRC closer to completing the tariff review process barring no objections from stakeholders on its decisions.”
She explained that before IRC can complete the tariff review for DOMLEC it still must consult stakeholders on DOMLEC’s cost of service study, load research study, and its rate proposal.
one of the main plan domlec need to have as priority is to make electricity affordable so factories and hotels come connect to domlec….with so so many loan on domlec back….hope geothermal will be affordable to Dominican…hope people will see savings…I thought when they brought the new GM was to help with this load shedding story…
