The much-anticipated 2025 Jazz n’ Creole Festival lineup will be launched soon. This information was disclosed by the CEO of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) Marva Williams.
Williams was a guest on Creole Heartbeat Program this week.
The festival takes place yearly at Fort Shirley, Cabrits National Park in Portsmouth.
“Very soon we will be launching our lineup for Jazz n’ Creole,” she said. “I mean, we know that the event is very much community-based, it is something that is up north but we have seen interest building especially in locations like the U.S,” she said. “Even last year our visitors for the week into Jazz n’ Creole extended…”
She continued, “So we are seeing that, [in] that small community the event has potential for more investment and more people are coming into Dominica.”
Williams explained that the organizers of the event still have some analysis to make as it relates to other islands in terms of competitiveness, “and probably repositioning or better positioning ourselves as a festival when it comes to Jazz n’ Creole.”
“Again, everything we do will continuously be reviewed and rebuilt on those strengths, but the Jazz n’ Creole does have the potential to continue to flourish in the north and spread its wings in terms of dollar circulation island-wide and we have seen the interest being built,” Williams stated.
Very good idea,Mr.Roger very good. That’s what positive people do,they think positively.
W hy didn’t you give the date of the event?
Some jazz music would make a refreshing change.
Also, the showing of many of the classic jazz films as lead-up fringe events would help to introduce younger generations to the genre.
I can supply the organzers with a wish list.
