
JCI Dominica is set to host Future Fest 2024, a dedicated symposium aimed at empowering the youth of Dominica through the provision of insights, resources, and opportunities for both personal and professional development. The event is scheduled for November 8, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. This year’s focus will be on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), featuring live interactions with industry professionals to enhance the experience for attendees.
Future Fest 2024 will emphasize the importance of TVET by offering participants hands-on experiences and the opportunity to explore various career paths within technical and vocational sectors. Attendees will engage in live demonstrations and interactive sessions, allowing them to connect directly with experts from different TVET fields. The event is particularly aimed at fifth-form students from secondary schools and other educational institutions across Dominica, with the goal of empowering numerous young individuals to pursue fulfilling and sustainable careers in TVET.
The symposium also serves as a platform for partners and sponsors, including financial institutions and local educational organizations, to engage with the youth and provide resources related to educational financing and career planning. Notable partners confirmed for the event include the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training and National Excellence, the National Bank of Dominica, the National Cooperative Credit Union, the Central Cooperative Credit Union, and the University of the West Indies Global Campus.
