A nine-member jury today found Samron Thomas of Montin, Grand Bay guilty of the murder of Damien Ernest of Kingshill.
Thomas, along with Marvin Marlon Albert of Grand Coulibri, was arrested and charged with the murder of Ernest in 2020. Albert who had since pleaded guilty to the murder is expected to be sentenced later.
Police reported that the body of Ernest was found at about 11 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2020, on the road near the Boeri Lake lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
He was taken to the Casualty Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where the body was pronounced dead.
Thomas was represented by attorney-at-law, Wayne Norde.
When the two accused appeared before High Court Judge, His Lordship Colin Williams on Monday, April 15, 2024, Peter Alleyne of the Legal Aid Clinic offered to provide representation for Albert.
Dominica News Online (DNO) will provide more details on the matter in a later publication.

Peter Alleyne should be nominated for a national award. He has consistently over the years stood up to provide counsel and support to even the proverbial “least amongst us.” A real sterling example of community spirit, selflessness, and generosity.
Respects to you, sir!
