L’Art dans un jardin de flueres (Art in a Garden of Flowers), slated for this month

The Morne Anglais Community Tourism Group, in partnership with the Giraudel/Eggleston Flower Growers Group and visual artist Sandra Bell-LaRocque, is organizing an event titled “L’ART DANS UN JARDIN DE FLEURES” (Art in a Garden of Flowers). This community-oriented event will showcase the artwork of Sandra Bell-LaRocque, including paintings and sculptures, at the picturesque Flower Show Site in Giraudel. It is scheduled to take place from Sunday, October 20, to Friday, October 25, and will continue from Tuesday, October 29, to Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Admission to the event will be free, ensuring accessibility for all attendees. Participation from 4-H clubs, educational institutions, and various social organizations is particularly encouraged. There will be activities designed for young artists and schoolchildren. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase plants, food, beverages, crafts, and other local products.

Additional highlights include a performance by Carlyn XP and a “Sip and Paint” session led by acclaimed artist Shadrach Burton, aimed at raising funds for community members requiring medical support. Furthermore, Raymond Lawrence will receive a special recognition award for his significant contributions to cultural and community development within the Giraudel/Eggleston areas. Organizers invite the public, including those attending the Dominica Festivals occurring concurrently, to engage in this enriching and enjoyable experience.
