Last day for public voting in Dominica Music Awards

Today marks the closing date for public voting in this year’s  Dominica Music Awards (DMA) competition, and the team is urging the public to get their votes in under the wire.

Organizers shared via press release, that this year’s event features over 200 artists nominated across a variety of musical genres, ” demonstrating the strength, diversity, and global potential of Dominica’s music industry.”

The DMA says it continues to emphasize artistic excellence and aims to shape the future of Dominican music through transparent processes, structured evaluation, and active public participation.

Public voting plays a pivotal role in determining the winners, accounting for 60% of the overall score. Supporters, including fans and families, are encouraged to cast their final votes before the midnight deadline.

The importance of public involvement is underscored by the DMA organizers, who stated, “Public participation is a crucial part of the DMA. It ensures that the voice of the people influences the outcome and that our artists feel the full support of their nation,” according to the DMA team under Creole Heartbeat.

The release explained that once the voting period concludes, the entries will proceed to the Judges’ Review Stage, which constitutes the remaining 40% of the final scoring. A panel of esteemed industry professionals will assess the nominees based on criteria such as creativity, quality, impact, and their contribution to the musical landscape of Dominica. Following this evaluation, the official list of finalists for the 2025 DMA will be announced, setting the stage for the upcoming celebration of Dominican music and culture.

“The Dominica Music Awards is more than an awards show—it is a national cultural movement. It recognizes our musicians as storytellers, cultural ambassadors, and drivers of the creative economy,” outlined the release.

The organizing committee urges the public to participate actively by voting before the midnight deadline, supporting Dominican artists across various platforms, purchasing tickets for the live event, or joining via Pay-Per-View from abroad.

The DMA’s flagship event, the Dominica Music Awards 2025, is scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2026. It promises, “A night of prestige, culture, artistry, and national pride.”

Tickets are available through www.CreoleHeartbeat.com, with options for both VIP attendance and online viewing.
