Creole HeartBeat has unveiled its 25th Anniversary Special Edition Magazine, released in perfect synchronization with Night One of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF25).

A statement from the creators said that the publication serves as a heartfelt tribute, offering readers a chance to reflect and preserve the rich history of an event that has significantly contributed to shaping Dominica’s cultural identity and fostering unity within the Creole community over the past twenty-five years.

According to the team, with the festival marking this significant milestone, the magazine is described as a bridge that links the past, present, and future of the Creole world. It underscores that the World Creole Music Festival is more than just a gathering; it is a manifestation of a shared vision that celebrates the essence of Creole heritage.

Leroy “Wadix” Charles, the Creole Ambassador, expressed this sentiment, stating, “As we gather for this milestone 25th year, this publication serves as a bridge — connecting where we came from, where we are, and where we are going. It reminds us that the World Creole Music Festival was not just an event, but a vision that celebrated who we are as Creole people.”

The commemorative issue takes readers on a journey through the festival’s evolution, highlighting the pioneering founders who envisioned a platform for Creole music and culture. It pays homage to the artists and cultural icons whose performances infused the festival with its distinctive sound and spirit. The magazine also chronicles the festival’s history from 1997 to 2025, demonstrating resilience through various storms, global challenges, and periods of rebirth. Additionally, it celebrates the bonds shared with the Creole diaspora and neighboring islands such as Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia, Haiti, and beyond, emphasizing regional unity. The publication further explores the festival’s significant role in bolstering Dominica’s tourism industry and creative economy.

As WCMF25 begins tonight, Creole HeartBeat encourages all involved—performers, organizers, and attendees—to pause and reflect on the deeper significance behind the festival. The team asserts that it is more than just entertainment; it is a celebration of the Creole spirit that unites us all.

“Whether you’re performing, working behind the scenes, or enjoying from the stands — take time to know the story behind this celebration. It’s the heartbeat of a people,”  added Ambassador Wadix.

The 25th Anniversary Special Edition is now accessible online on the Creole HeartBeat website, with a limited number of printed copies available throughout the festival weekend for those who wish to keep a physical memento of this historic milestone.
