Latest round of sponsorship for Miss Dominica 2025; NBD gives double

The National Bank of Dominica Ltd (NBD) has provided sponsorship to two contestants vying for the coveted title of Miss Dominica 2025.

They are contestant number 4, Aliyah Jean-Jacques representing Canefield, and contestant number 5, Ruth-Anne Henderson representing Grandbay and Pichelin.

Each contestant received sponsorship amounting to $7000.

Marketing Manager of NBD Michelle Joseph who was addressing a Carnival Press Conference held on Thursday said the institution is not only thrilled to support culture, youth, and community development, “but also to engage in a truly unique and exceptional initiative that sets us apart.”

“NBD is proud to lend its support to not one, but two remarkable Carnival Queen Contestants in the names of Aliyah Jean Jacques and Ruth-Anne Henderson,” she said. “This one-of-a-kind engagement reflects our deep commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and fostering positive change within our community.”

Furthermore, Joseph said each contestant chose platforms that align perfectly with NBD’s vision for a sustainable future.

“Aliyah’s platform, ‘Protecting the Sea and Ocean from Plastic Pollution’ addresses a critical environmental issue that affects us all,” she noted. “Her dedication to preserving our oceans and marine life is a reflection of her passion and leadership and NBD is proud to support her in this cause.”

Joseph continued, “Ruth-Anne meanwhile, is championing ‘Holistic Wellness’ using the environment. By promoting the benefits of using natural resources to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being, Ruth-Anne is advocating for a more balanced and sustainable approach  to health.”

Meanwhile, contestant number 2, Meeya Francis, who represents the community Canefield received sponsorship from the Dominica National Lottery (DNL) where she is presently employed as a draw hostess.

“We have been especially elated to be part of the Miss Dominica Carnival Pageant for the third consecutive year,” she said. “This year is different for us, why? It is close to our hearts as Meeya is part of our team serving as a draw hostess.”

She added, “Meeya brings to you your daily lottery games results.”

According to Stedman-James, this sponsorship ensures that she pursues her dreams and goals as she vies for the title of Miss Dominica 2025.
