That failed political event should never have associated itself with Rosa Parks. I feel sorry for these people because their fight is not genuine at all.

Rosa Parks wasn’t a women’s rights activist. I think you need a new name. But good luck to you all.

You people sit in Dominica or wherever you all are, wrapped in nonsense, talking fart about what you do not know!
If the Rosa Parks who sat on that bus, refusing to stand and denying a white person to sit which triggered the bus-strike, was not a civil rights activist then I don’t know what she could have done to be recognized as a civil right activist in your world.
Have you ever heard of Trinidad born Stokely Carmichael?
Would you say he was a Civil Rights activist in the struggles in America?
I threw that in there simply to allow you to realize you don’t know anything about American history or anything about the civil rights movement. Carmichael was practically another of the civil rights leaders.
I can talk about what I know as I learned in classrooms in America, I advise rather than talking nonsense find the truth of the matter; I don’t know if there are people fighting for civil rights in Dominica, but I think it is stupid to evoke Rosa Parks name in their rubbish!

Rosa Parks was a black civil rights activist, not a women’s rights activist. I think you should have done your research and picked a more fitting name for your movement.

That’s not the issue here. It’s all about the insult on a Kalinago woman.

      Thank you Winston!
You know some Dominicans are trying to “be like them “ that they try to imitate anything that sounds American.
Even Roosevelt Skerrit and his dumb wife tried to fool them with rotten turkey, talking about celebrating Thanksgiving, when that is not traditional to Dominica.
Not even Canada where we simply walk over the border!
Thanksgiving is something between the British pilgrims and the indigenous Indians

Someone may have said it before, but I’m reiterating it. As a little boy growing in up the popular saying in my beloved village was, “Give to get.” In my opinion, this popular language needs to be echoed once again or continually.

Our women are disrespectful to their own selves without shame. You see it every blessed day in Roseau and around the country. They are constantly “dressing” on the streets by always pulling down the little piece of banana leaves 🍃 that’s wrapped around their waist. They cannot bend down to pick up anything without showing their “Us ole.” They go about partly bare and naked during carnival and even do bedroom things in the open for all to see; including the little children. They curse at their little ones and smack them to the ground in a rage. Yes! That’s our women today. These people who are advocating for respect for women have been walking around completely blinded. They want to send a message to some high profile men but they have the wrong address.

I guess Telemakak is getting to his senses. These women and a handful of Marcoumere men are in the street dancing, like it is carnival Monday and Tuesday. They have drumsticks beating drums,a bunch of UWP idiots. In all my years living in the US I have seen a number of demonstrations.I have never seen a demonstration where people are partying and dancing in the street. In the US demonstrations are always serious business,so much so,some of them end in violence. The so called Rosa Parks women and the handful of marcoumere seem to be enjoying Annette Sanford being referred to as a drumstick.

But dumb kindergarten graduate, you blind man!
Hahahaha:you mean to tell me you are unable to see all those people in the streets playing mass, jumping up and down like John-bull, juevy mornings are all dressed in red?

Those are your people, talking about Rosa Parks.
Using Rosa Parks name is a fraud!
Rosa Parks is not a Dominican: the late Rosa Parks never had any connection to Dominica, as I said this lady perhaps died without knowing the island of Dominica existed!
That reminds me when Rosie Douglas failed he tried to compensate by talking fart about Martin Luther king holiday in Dominica.
These people are not Dominicans, their endeavors contributed nothing to Dominica nor any nation in the West Indies.
So, why are these people using the late Rosa Parks name in their crap.
Dominicans needs to be educated to the fact as much American TV they watch, as many visiting American tourists accent they try to imitate their country Dominica does not have any connection to America…

Rosa Parks wasn’t for one set, she was for everybody. You all should not be using the Lady’s name you the nonsense you all are doing. You all are forcing the issue on what the AG said but the person who called young women names, the speaker names ,told Ms Baron to shut up was speaking at this event. This, is hypocritical, political and one sides. May God have mercy on Dominica.

These UWP-ites are so desperate they will clutch at straws to try and sound significant. They should probably change their party symbol to a drumstick for their next campaign..
A drumstick is a very important instrument in a band. If you don’t have the drumstick to beat the drum, then you wont hear the sound of the drum. So Annette Sandford should feel privileged to be referred to as a drumstick.
Isn’t it ironic that Lennon Linton getting on the drumstick band wagon when he himself refer to Dominican as prostitutes?

“Rosa Parks Women – March to demand respect for women”
So, what I would like to know is which Rosa Parks those people in Dominica are trying to associate with their revelry in the streets of Dominica?
If they are trying to involve this Lady in their crap, I suggest they all check themselves int an asylum in Dominica!

“Rosa Louise McCauley Parks (February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005) was an American activist in the civil rights movement best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. The United States Congress has honored her as “the first lady of civil rights” and “the mother of the freedom movement”. Parks became a NAACP activist in 1943, participating in several high-profile civil rights activities.”
The late Rosa had no connection to Dominica died and perhaps never heard the name Dominica; so why the shores?
Hard as Dominican try to be American; it can never be, America does not have any connection to Dominica political or otherwise!
    Using Rosa name is…

If you were not an idiot, or someone who didn’t finished elementary school your intelligent would have told you that the information I gave about Rosa Parks are between quotations marks which means I got the information from a source rather than my own words!
So running your stupid mouth off talking about cut and paste only shows how stupid you are okay!

Francisco there is no need for your tongue lashing of citizens who are willing to expose themselves to harsh criticism and victimization for a very worthy cause. What should they do? Sit down with their legs crossed, hands folded and do nothing about the insults, disrespect and bad treatment meted out to them from a corrupt, tyrannical bunch of impersonators pretending to be a legitimate government?

This march is a Rosa Parks moment in time. One Dominican woman stood up, saw the need to galvanize the country’s collective conscience against the wrongs perpetrated by a corrupt and evil dictatorship against its people. Should she and the marchers be castigated for this?

The lady was inspired by Ross Parks’ action. What so wrong with that? It seems only divine intervention will bring the much needed changes to a country in serious peril mismanaged by people of extreme shady character.

Okay, I must agree somewhat, if there is a reason to fight for a cause, as Dominicans, we should find a way to challenge that without imitating something that has no relation or relevance to our people and country.

Some are so confused, they made the claim that Rosa Parks was not a civil rights activist!
“Francisco there is no need for your tongue lashing of citizens who are willing to expose themselves to harsh criticism.”(lbo).
I am not in anyway tongue lashing anyone; I am simply one who can’t polish anything; I just don’t think that using Rosa Parks name is relevant to anythng in Dominica!
By the same token why did they not use the name of Mahatma Gandhi; for that matter they could have called themselves women of Joan of Arc Patron Saint of France!
But you see, because they think they are American, by adaption, or colonization that’s why they zeroed in on Rosa Parks name: In America people get sued for using people name for promotion without permission!
        It can happen…

One does not and will not receive respect by asking or demanding it. one automatically receives respect when they first have it for them.self. this is the law..

Woman and Man have lost their self.respect. and that is the main reason for the world being in the state its in. that is why the rulers can also use and abuse the masses. because neither Man or Woman has self respect..

What is a real Man or Woman. for a start it has nothing to do with sex or having children…

    • Garçon
      October 14, 2023

You a very correct and to add to what you have said to gain respect you also have to be fair and balanced. No one will respect you when you sat there for years listening to other women being insulted and call names , you sat there for years while women and girls are physically and sexually abused, at times killed and you had not a word to say. You started no movement. Now a politician called another politician drumstick in the house of assembly which we have all come to accept as a house of jokes, you up in arms. Allu will never get respect because your insincerity glitters like neon sign. When you are not selective to what angers you I will support.

    • Gary
      October 15, 2023

When you talk about self-respect, it implies having regard for a person character, values, and dignity, it’s the ego that is demanding such thing, defending a caricature. When you talk about The self, I would like to know your definition or meaning. You ask what is the real Man or Woman, it is the things that constitute the being of Man or Woman, which exist in the unseen realm beyond the physical.

The rulers of the world use and abuse the masses simply because the masses are ignorant, due to the disproportionate acquirement of knowledge by the masses and rulers, have you heard the phrase knowledge is power, well what knowledge we’re talking about, knowledge of self, who we really are verses self-respect
