Living hostages freed in Gaza conflict, sealing conditions of ceasefire

On Monday, Israel and Hamas took a significant initial step toward a fragile ceasefire agreement in Gaza by exchanging prisoners and hostages. This development has sparked renewed optimism that the U.S.-mediated deal could eventually lead to a lasting resolution to the two-year conflict that has devastated the Palestinian enclave, said an AP News report.

However, critical issues remain unresolved, including whether Hamas will disarm, who will assume authority over Gaza, and the broader question of Palestinian statehood, highlighting the delicacy of the agreement.

The write-up claims that many Israelis believe they were forced into the war by Hamas.

It also described the release of the remaining 20 living hostages as bringing a wave of relief and a sense of closure, though many still remain committed to continuing efforts to recover those who lost their lives in Gaza.

Meanwhile, crowds gathered in Beitunia, in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, and in Khan Younis in Gaza to celebrate the Palestinian prisoners’ release. Among those freed are 250 individuals serving life sentences for attacks on Israelis, alongside 1,700 others seized from Gaza during the conflict and held without charges.

Mahmoud Fayez, who was detained early last year during an Israeli raid on Gaza’s main Shifa Hospital, expressed gratitude, saying, “Praise be to God, our Lord, who has honored us with this release and this joy.”

According to AP News, the release of the living hostages means the urgency that many felt to push for an end to the war is likely to diminish, easing pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to move forward with subsequent phases of the agreement.

As part of the initial ceasefire phase, four deceased hostages were also returned to Israel on Monday, with another 24 expected to be handed over soon. The agreement also reportedly calls for Israel to permit a surge of humanitarian aid—food, medicine, and other essentials—into Gaza.

AP News wrote that while Gaza’s residents celebrated the return of prisoners from Israel and harbored hope that the conflict might finally subside, the reality for Palestinians remains bleak. The territory has been ravaged by relentless Israeli bombardments, leaving its economy in ruins, essential services in disarray, and many homes destroyed. The suffering endures for a population exhausted by years of conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who did not attend the Egypt meeting due to a Jewish holiday, assured the Israeli parliament of his commitment to the deal, stating that it “ends the war by achieving all our objectives.”

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump visited the region to celebrate the progress, urging lawmakers in Israel to seize the opportunity for broader peace in the Middle East. In Egypt, said reports,  Trump and other world leaders convened to address the more complex aspects of the agreement and set the stage for future negotiations.

The audacity of Trump patting himself on the back for the temporary pause of the two year genocide of the Palestinian people, can be viewed similarly to an arsonist setting fire to your home and calling the fire service to put out, and expect a pat on the back in return. When Joe Biden was on the verge of getting Netanyahu to cease fire in 2024, Trump called Netanyahu and instructed him to continue with his genocide and wait till he became President to end it, in order that he can claim the credit for ending it. Thousands of Palestinian lives could have been saved along with Israeli hostages who lost their lives as a result of the carpet bombing of Gaza. So it is ironic that the perpetrators of this genocide now expect pats on the back for ending it.

The exchange of hostages and prisoners is the easy part. The negotiations to secure a permanent peace deal is much more problematic.

The Zionists have not withdrawn their soldiers from the Palestinian territory. They have no plans to this as they are determined to have an everlasting presence in Gaza. An excuse is imminent for the continuation of the genocidal attacks on the Pa!Estonians by Netanyahu and his partner in crime.

So Trump called Bibi and said “brother continue the killing until I’m president”? Really? And then he takes almost a year from assuming the presidency to finally reach a deal? Don’t get me wrong I think Trump and pretty much EVERY U.S. president since LBJ is a puppet of Israel but unless you can show the source I really doubt anything even close to that happened. Also you’re out of your mind if you think BIDEN was going to get Israel to stop their ethnic cleansing of the palestinians.

Anyone who believes that peace will be attained in Gaza with Netanyahu/Satanyahu as leader of Israel is fooling himself. And Trump the two faced gangster and warmonger, will do nothing about it, but to join.
Netanyahu the criminal, controls the USA. In fact even Americans refer to America as ‘the United States of Israel’. Those guys are genocidal partners. This tenuous peace is all a farce, its all a game, like his meeting with Putin in Alaska.
That’s Trump (the duplicitous racist), report card so far: war with Iran, killing of Iranian peace negotiators, bombing of Yemen, providing of lethal aid to Ukraine, killing of Venezuelans at sea with zero evidence of illicit activity, stirring up conflict with Venezuela.
But the gangster gives himself the name, the president of PEACE……
PEACE MY FOOT! The Military Industrial Complex only makes money when genocidal creatures like Trump foment wars.

Have your heard the latest threat from the chief financier of the genocide? Trump has asserted that he would resume the carpet bombing of Gaza if Hamas doesn’t completely disarmed.

This Son of Satan (Donald), spends every waking minute devising some sort of evil plan. He can be considered to be Satan incarnate.
