Local Girl Guides urge past and present members to don uniform for Guide Day

The Girl Guides Association of Dominica is encouraging all members and supporters to participate in Guide Day this coming Thursday. Both current Guides and alumni will have the opportunity to demonstrate their pride and unity through their attire and spirit, shared an announcement from the organization.

Participants are invited to wear their complete Guide uniforms or their preferred Guide T-shirts, regardless of location—be it at work, school, or even during errands. The event emphasizes that the celebration is happening everywhere, promoting visibility and camaraderie across the island.

The significance of this day lies in its purpose: to show solidarity with the Girl Guides Association of Dominica (GGAD), to honor the history and influence of World Thinking Day within the nation, and to motivate future leaders.

The association emphasizes the enduring motto, “Once a Guide, always a Guide,” encouraging everyone to embody the guiding principles.

Participants are encouraged to capture photographs of themselves in uniform and share their images on social media using the hashtag #GGADGuideDay to showcase their participation and collective spirit.

“Let’s turn the island into a sea of blue and brown!” said the announcement.
