Jason Stephan Telemacque, a 29-year-old fisherman residing at 152 Loubiere, was arrested on Sunday, September 7, 2025, for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
According to authorities, Telemacque was found in possession of a black Taurus pistol with its serial number scratched off, along with 11 rounds of ammunition. He was subsequently charged and brought before the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Appearing before Magistrate Gloria Augustus, Telemacque entered a guilty plea to both charges. On the firearm charge, he was fined $10,000.00, payable immediately, with a default penalty of three years’ imprisonment. For the ammunition charge, he received a fine of $3,000.00, to be paid by the end of September 2025, or face one year in prison if unpaid.
Telemacque was represented by attorney Mrs. Zena Dyer. Court officials confirmed that the fines were paid within ten minutes of sentencing.
$10 000.00 and $3000.00?
No wonder those with illegal guns are not surrendering them.
This country has never been such a big JOKE than it is now.
Wow! Ten minutes
.
Hopefully thats the maximum under the law. If not we can say they knew what the magistrate was going to fine….its called collusion in the judiciary. Hopefully I am wrong
“Court officials confirmed that the fines were paid within ten minutes of sentencing.” He is very well-resourced. I suspect he will be back there again.
