D’won Durand, a 26-year-old resident of Mahaut, has succumbed to injuries sustained while operating a forklift in Portsmouth.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. yesterday when the forklift overturned, trapping Durand’s upper body underneath.
Despite being rushed to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH), Durand later died due to the severity of his injuries.
Rest in peace broda.
“the forklift overturned, trapping Durand’s upper body”
You know sorry as one can feel for someone loosing their life like that; I still have to wonder how can a forklift overturn on the operator?
A forklift is an industrial vehicle designed to lift, move, and stack materials over short distances. It is equipped with two metal prongs at the front, which can slide under heavy loads for lifting and transporting. Forklifts are commonly used in various industries, including warehousing, designed to operate, and run on level surface.
I don’t think they can travel as fast as twenty miles per hour, that is sort of a mystery!
My deepest condolences to his family and friends. On the other hand, why nobody is saying where in Portsmouth or who was he working for at 7:30pm? Why did the police report keep this information from the public since in any real country the place would be sealed and the public would know? To say it happened in Portsmouth is like saying it happened in roseau with no further investigation
