Almost two weeks following his guilty plea, 53-year-old Troy Alfred Joseph of Independence Street pleaded not guilty for possession of 2,027 grams of cannabis with intent to supply.
The prosecution confirmed that Joseph was arrested at the Roseau Fisheries by police on Wednesday, August 21. Following his arraignment at the Roseau District Magistrate’s Court on Friday, August 23, the defendant pleaded guilty and was granted bail set at $100,000.00.
As part of his bail conditions, Joseph is required to report to the Roseau Police Headquarters every Wednesday and must notify the court seventy hours in advance if he intends to change his residential address.
The case took a different turn on, Thursday, September 5, when Joseph changed his plea. However, Magistrate Pearl Williams informed him that his bail conditions would remain in effect and adjourned the matter to November 25, 2024.
