Marigot Village Carnival 2025 1A 2025

The Marigot Village Carnival 2025 commenced on Saturday, with what is being called  a spectacular “Jouvert-style” celebration that laid the groundwork for Mas Dominik in Marigot.

According to a press release by organizers, the much-anticipated “Warm-Up Pre J’ouvert Experience,” orchestrated by Classique Sounds, drew a lively crowd of enthusiastic revelers from both local communities and abroad, marking a resounding success.

Hon. Anthony Samora Charles, the Parliamentary Representative for the Marigot Constituency, took the opportunity to commend Corporate Marigot, local enterprises, and the community at large for their unwavering dedication in making the event a reality. He highlighted the significant impact of the collaborative efforts among residents, attendees, and business sponsors along the carnival route, which contributed to the vibrant atmosphere that characterized this year’s festivities.

In an interview with Nate Media, Hon. Charles reflected on Marigot’s rich cultural heritage, underscoring the grassroots involvement in carnival celebrations and other cultural events over the years. He reportedly praised Classique Sounds and its partners for creating a thrilling Pre-J’ouvert experience that provided an exhilarating sneak peek of the eagerly awaited Blue Star J’ouvert event.

Kerdale Younis, the owner of Classique Sounds, celebrated the event’s achievements while also acknowledging the obstacles encountered in securing corporate sponsorship. He implored Corporate Dominica to increase their support for significant events in the northeastern part of the island, emphasizing how critical investments in cultural festivities are for promoting tourism, economic growth, and community pride, says the statement. Despite these challenges, Younis expressed his heartfelt thanks to all sponsors that contributed to the event’s success.

If you wish for Dominicans to support an organized event mention rum, food and music. Sewo is KING in Dominica. Everything else is secondary. They will even send their last cent on partying. Dominica’s new alias is now – The Land Of Sewo
