Marina Jno. Baptiste receives $5000 cheque from sponsors Triple Kay Band

Miss Teen Dominica Contestant Marina Jno. Baptiste, representing Operation Youth Quake, was presented with a cheque amounting to $5,000 from her sponsors Triple Kay International during a ceremony held on Thursday.

She is among four other contestants who will compete for the prestigious title at the pageant scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

“This is a process we have actually shied away from for many years.  Probably those of you who have been following the band over the years would have recognized, in our earlier periods, there would be a lot of presentations in terms of charity sponsorship that we would have engaged in,” Manager of the Triple Kay International Band Jeoffrey Joseph said. “But over the years, we have decided that we would rather make our presentations private. This was a decision that was taken by the band. But after hearing of Marina’s journey, I think it was a fitting moment for us to publicize our support for her along this journey.”

According to him, this is an opportunity for the band to showcase to the rest of the world or people who may be going through certain situations, that they will recognize that, despite their circumstances, “there is always a future. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.”

“And we are very proud to be associated with Miss Marina this morning and for this pageant 2026,” Joseph stated. “We believe that she has come a long way to prepare herself to be ready for that journey.”

He declared that come the night of Sunday, February 8, the Triple Kay Band will be celebrating along with Marina, no matter the results.

Jno. Baptiste is also sponsored by G Reckson Project Services.

Meanwhile, she was officially sashed by the National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) Limited as ‘Miss Young Savers’.

Peoples band? I would not go that far    …..that title belongs to Shelly and the SIGNAL BAND. TK has become and ok not first class band. They make too much darn noise with no real lyrics. At least, SIGNAL band still sings.

But nonetheless, thanks a lot TK for the donation because it means a lot to the younger generations.
