Michele Henderson and band gear up for ‘Jazz In Me’ event

Dominica’s ‘Princess of Song’ Michele Henderson and her band are gearing up to present another exciting edition of ‘Jazz In Me’.

The event scheduled for April 24 at Michele’s Courtyard at The Realm in Roseau forms part of the Fringe events for the 13th Annual Jazz n’ Creole to be staged at the Cabrits National Park in Portsmouth on May 4.

“This year we are putting out our own fringe event called Jazz In Me,” Henderson said while speaking at a ‘Jazz n Creole’ press conference on Thursday. “We did actually have a first edition of  ‘Jazz In Me’ some years ago just after the COVID saga when we couldn’t have a major jazz event.”

She continued, “This would be the second edition of Jazz In Me and hopefully we can continue to do this event every year ahead of the Jazz n Creole event that would not only feature myself, but also feature other artists from around the Caribbean.”

According to her, ‘Jazz In Me’ is her band’s contribution towards the creole-jazz season.

Henderson encourages Dominicans and visitors alike to support the event.

The event will feature Henderson and her band as well as Rob ZII and Phyness from St Lucia.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM.

Regular tickets cost US$30 (EC$75) and VIP tickets cost US$80 (EC$200) and are available at  DEPEX Color Lab.
