In recognition of Early Childhood Development month by the Ministry of Education/Early Childhood Education, Ms. Deravairere, better known around the community as (Miss D), has embarked on recognizing different businesses around the school community. She maintains that connection is of vital importance to the development of every child.
According to her, community connection in early childhood education involves partnership between schools, families, and the wider community to support the safety, stimulation, well-being, and connection of the holistic child ought to be valued.
Also, children benefit from a supportive community by developing a sense of attachment, social skills, and belonging. This, in return, will strengthen connections between families, schools, and organizations. Fostering a more supportive network for children.
Ms. Deravairere aims for a lifelong commitment together with all institutions: churches, schools, supermarkets, pharmacies, and eating establishments to grow connections, allowing a linkage with families through educating and helping to nurture the children in the way he/she needs to grow.
In this regard, Deravairere and her team recently gave tokens of appreciation to the working forces that are within the community.
In her view, this brings reciprocity to every parent, which in turn touches every child.
