Acting Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre, warmly welcomed His Excellency Roger F. Nyhus, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America to Dominica.
Prior to this, Ambassador Nyhus had presented his credentials to the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Her Excellency Sylvanie Burton. During the ceremony, he pledged to uphold a strong partnership between the two nations, rooted in shared values and a mutual commitment to tackling common challenges.
Ambassador Nyhus emphasized the enduring collaboration between the United States and Dominica, highlighting it as a testament to the strength of mutual understanding and friendship that exists between the two countries.
Dr. McIntyre, on behalf of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, extended well wishes for a successful tour of duty to the new ambassador. He also expressed Dominica’s eagerness to continue its collaborative efforts with the United States in order to further its development agenda.
This event marks another chapter in the diplomatic relations between Dominica and the United States, which were formally established in 1978.

ADMIN: The US Ambassador to Dominica officially resides in the US Embassy in Barbados whose longer longer title is United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
Like his predecessors, Nyhus serves concurrently as Ambassador to the following islands: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
His ambassadorial duties also extend to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

In countries like ours we are only forty years old we have seventy five years of making up politically to do.
