The dawn of a new year is a promising period. It is time to settle and reflect on the past and to map out our goals for 2025.
In view of the foregoing, the United Progressive Party (UPP) once again issues the call for national unity of all political parties, leaders, and constituents to contribute to a more progressive direction for our beloved nation., and to confront our national and global challenges.
Indeed, we are extremely glad that the arrival of the new year, 2025 is greeted with the spirit of unity. Together we are seeking a new beginning on the building blocks of what we have already achieved.
We may have an inflated cost of living, a limping economy, and huge brain drain to name a few, hence causing anxiety and uncertainty, but let us not take our peace, natural beauty, and human jewels for granted.
There is still real hope on a united front, elevated spirits, and together we will work in the best interest of our country by unlocking our full potential.
Let us therefore in the new year work tirelessly to strengthen bonds of togetherness and union to aid in the realization of our national vision, “to build a resilient and prosperous future for all citizens by balancing economic progress with social equity and environmental stewardship.”

Explain this to me Joshua Francis because I am trying to understand your mind-set, while I shall never support you or any party mad enough to make you its leader.
How do you breakaway from a mainstream political party, in a most controversial, betrayal and disloyal manner, and then come back under your own fringe political party set up, and call for all opposition parties to unite with you? What does that tell me about you? What does this say about your motives? Your desperation to be leader or a leader means you would be the destruction of any coalition government. I cannot imagine the level of infighting for power and leadership that would surround you. One just have to watch your personal and professional life to realize that you are a personal and professional disaster who would bring chaos to any party that you are involved in and political destability to Dominica. You would be the first to resign to bring down any government if you do not get your way! Get out of politics
Thousands of Dominicans want to rid the country of Roosevelt as leader. This will give them superlative happiness. With Roosevelt gone, the deprivation, dispossession of the people, and the decimation of the economy will certainly take a different trajectory.
Be that as it may, Joshua’s past shows him as a vulnerable, troubled and flawed character. He is definitely not made of prime minister timber.
For him to try to consume most of the oxygen on DNO and Q95 in recent times to resuscitate his tattered image is a wanton waste of time and money.
Joshua the country does not need another person of questionable character to run things Dominica.
If the UPP were an airplane piloted by Joshua, it would be undetectable by radar while airborne. It is so miniscule and of no significance.
The UPP has one permanent member who is the founder (Joshua Francis). This gentleman attracts scandals like rotten fruits attract fruit flies. His track record is replete with amoral and outrageous behaviour.
At present, the country has a scandal plagued administration in place. The last thing the country needs is another rotten onion as prime minister to embarrass or soil the country’s image.
The best thing Joshua can do for Dominica is to stay out of elected politics. Become an advocate for good governance; do some pro bono work on behalf of the poor.
