
Niam Alexander St. Rose, of Loubiere who was charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend’s 18-month-old child has been recently granted bail in the amount of $40,000 by Justice Colin Williams at a Roseau court.
According to the charge of the police, it is alleged that on January 12, 2023, at Fond Cole, St. Rose who was 19 years old at the time did murder Yolana A’marah Julie St. Jean. The accused man made his first appearance before Magistrate Michael Laudat.
Inspector of Police Fixton Henderson previously reported that on Friday, January 12, 2024, at about 4:25 pm, the toddler was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) in an unresponsive state.
“She was examined and pronounced dead that same evening by a medical doctor,” he said.
Sources indicate that physical abuse may have been the cause of death of the toddler.
