No political motorcades this weekend says Police Chief

Police Chief Daniel Carbon has announced that no permission was given to either of the political parties in Dominica to hold an island-wide motorcade this weekend.

According to Carbon, he has concluded a meeting with his high command and representatives of both the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) and the United Workers Party (UWP), whom he summoned to discuss applications that he has received from both parties to hold motorcades on Sunday 1st, December 2019.

“After having discussions with them, I have taken a decision not to grant permission to any of the parties to have their island-wide motorcade on Sunday 1st, December 2019 or any day as a matter of fact,” Carbon said. “I have not given permission for any of the parties to have any motorcade at any day.”

Carbon said his decision was made out of concern over the security of the state as the “general election campaign is highly politically charged.”

“I have to take the safety of motorists, road users, pedestrians into consideration,” he stated.

Carbon went on to say that there will be two cruise ships in port on the said day and one of those cruise ships is a mega-ship.

“Both parties came to the understanding and they decided that they will not have a motorcade,” he said.

Carbon called on the general public to be guided accordingly, “that I have not given permission to any of the parties to have any motorcade, not on Sunday, not on any day.”

Well well well COP Daniel Carbon finally grew some cahunas and said NO to the SLP    . Looks like he cares less now because after election he will be a goner anyway. SLP had planned of kicking him after the election in favor of his now deputy if they win (NOT GONNA HAPPEN) and when UWP wins he will have to go on leave while the force is investigated and realigned to serve THE PEOPLE. The cahunas have gotten bigger a tad too late though

Perhaps the Police Chief could demand that all election paraphernalia that presently disfigures Dominica be removed immediately after the election.

My advise to my friend, classmate and fellow Viellecasean the Job. Roosevelt Skerrit is, jail time no matter for how long,l is far better than suicide. Let me caution readers not to try to interpret my blog because I really spoke in tongues.

This is the first victory, let our people not relent.

Let me congratulate people power in Dominica for forcing this outcome. Do not believe for a second – while he may be a good person who is caught up in this conundrum – that Carbon cancelled the motorcades on his own volition? No. It is people power that has forced him to make this decision.

However I am still grateful that he made that decision, because it may have averted a significant potential, for physical turbulence amongst the people.

Lets hope Roosevelt Skeritt, like Carbon, grows some sense to realize and accept the will of the people, less he wants chaos to ensue on the streets of Dominica.

This directive most likely came from the PM. He realizes by the time Aljazeera releases their final episode on Friday. He might have few supporters on the DLP motorcade. This is a poor excuse to cancel the motorcades when they were planned in such a way of giving the DLP the advantage in previous elections, additionally, cruise ships have always been on the port.

In light of the alleged US$200,000.00 passport money now jailed criminal Alireza Monfared sent to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, through the Gas Station account of the Nanthan family , I waiting for my tank to be RED Empty, so I could drive to the gas station of Nanthan and full my tank and then drive off. I want them to take my plate number and call the police to arrest me so that I could go to court and embarrass Skerrit, Nanthan and our government. All you keeping 90% and giving us 10%? Wicked bunch!

Carbon is just interested in guarding Roosevelt Skerrit and the DLP so I bet you my life that safety is not the reason Carbon stopped motorcade. He does not want people to see the amount of cars and people UWP has could be one reason, and the other and main reason I believe is, Carbon is trying to make sure UWP does not take the Al Jazeera revelation to the villages and people that did not hear it . In that revelation we heard that allegedly US$200,000.00 was syphoned like petrol to the gas station of the Nanthan family gas station. That’s what we want Daniel Carbon and his labor police to investigate.
As for me I now call on all motorists from Dominica, especially motorists from the North to FLOOD the gas Station of Emmanuel Nanthan, and demand a free gas top up compliment our US$200,000.00 passport money Alireza Monfared sent to Skerrit, through the gas station account.
As for me, I going to full my tank and drive away. I waiting until my tank is empty to make sure I get a full…

Doh worrynhe is controlled by skerrit. To avoid the blue vex angry team to clash. Ok so is not carbon at all skerrit run tings.. and he is for “peace”.if skerrit wanted motorcade they could have it anyway..so is not carbon at all.

    November 26, 2019

So Daniel Carbon expects me to believe him? Since when Daniel Carbon is that fair to all? Carbon is a laborite and was put there to help Skerrit plan and do his dirty work. Like Skerrit and Charles Savarin. they will do anything to destroy Lennox Linton and the UWP. That’s why Carbon is NOT the police commissioner of Dominica just as Savarin is NOT the president of Dominica! Savarin is the president of Skerrit and Carbon is the police commissioner of Skerrit and the DLP.
So for Carbon to say he did not authorize any team to have motorcade is just hogwash! Is this the first time we having motorcade? Is this the first time we going through a close election? Why couldn’t the UWP asked to head one direction and DLP another to ensure they don’t cross path?
I believe UWP must have told Carbon where they intend to start and finish and Carbon, as partisan as he is, must have told and planned with Skerrit to go exactly where UWP intended to go through. Carbon just revealed his…

Really My little take! U see persons like u only see things one way or since u are an opposition person, you will look to criticise the Commisioner because he gave no permission to none of them. People like u enjoy confrontation. Whilst I like motorcade, I comment the chief because your party violent and causing all kinds of foolish commess – sleeping on road around a statue, want to burst to go in where they are not allowed to etc. You do not have persons at heart, or a peaceful person. Don’t u think this is one of the best decision taking into account how you all want to win at all costs? Persons (UWPites) do not look at things objectively. Here u . No one got permission. So go pray for the country and the election & your preferred party. Pray for peace! No motorcade! Why can’t u be objective! Always want things their way but very confused. Want this way now, another way tomorrow. Confused u all are. Labour party did not get to do motorcade. So what?
