The North East Comprehensive School is set to receive a significant donation, in the service of agricultural education and climate justice, on January 28, 2025.
The event will take place on the school grounds, where the official handover of a state-of-the-art greenhouse equipped with an irrigation system will be conducted, a generous contribution facilitated by BloomBox Garden Center Dominica.
This initiative is part of the broader “Amplifying Rural and Indigenous Youth Voices on Climate Justice in the Caribbean” program, funded by the Open Societies Foundation through the Climate Classrooms Initiative. The program aims to empower youth, particularly in rural and Indigenous communities, by providing them with the tools and resources needed to advocate for climate justice and sustainable agricultural practices.
The equipment will aid students with hands-on experience in agriculture, emphasizing sustainability and environmental stewardship.
