
North Side FC secured a hard-earned 2–1 victory over Calibishie FC in Game #2 of the Wenham Sheppard Possie Cup (WSPC) at the Benjamin Park Playing Field, in a match played under very wet and challenging conditions.
Persistent rain made the surface slippery throughout the contest, forcing both teams to adjust their play as they battled for control of the match.
NorthSide FC took the lead after Calibishie FC conceded an unfortunate own goal, with the difficult conditions contributing to the mishap on the slick surface.
Calibishie FC responded positively and managed to equalize through Ezechiel Mestor, who found the back of the net to bring his team level.
However, as the rain continued to impact play, both teams battled fiercely for control. Jayden Thomas eventually scored the decisive goal for North Side FC, restoring their lead and securing the advantage.
Despite a determined push from Calibishie FC in search of another equalizer, North Side FC held firm defensively to secure the 2–1 victory.
The Wenham Sheppard Possie Cup (WSPC) continues with another exciting matchup scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026, when National Champions Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC take on Calibishie FC at 7:00 PM at Benjamin Park in Portsmouth.
