
WaituCirque, Dominica’s organization dedicated to circus arts, launches its inaugural Circus Festival themed “Nou sé Histoire” — which translates from Creole as “We Are History,” and has informed the public to prepare for “an extraordinary day of wonder and artistry.”
A press release from the group details the event as scheduled for Saturday, May 31, at Caapi Cottage Retreats in Cochrane, with the venue sponsoring and hosting the festival.
According to the organizers. the festival will showcase a unique fusion of Dominican storytelling and vibrant circus performances, offering an energetic celebration of local talent, community spirit, and creative innovation. Attendees can look forward to a variety of acts including aerial arts, acrobatics, juggling, illusions, and improvisation. The day will feature performances, interactive workshops, and activities suitable for all ages, running from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The main circus show begins at 5:00 PM.
Highlights of the festival include:
– Interactive Workshops: Opportunities to learn juggling, aerial skills, or participate in improvisational theater with the “Mission Improbable” troupe.
– Live Performances: Witness daring acts and illusions performed by some of Dominica’s most talented circus artists.
– Creative Activities: Engage in live painting with the Waitukubuli Artist Association, or personalize your look with natural henna tattoos and face painting.
– Additional offerings include artist Q&A sessions and a variety of local food vendors, enhancing the overall experience.

– Parking is not available at the venue; visitors are encouraged to park in Cochrane Village and enjoy a short, scenic walk to the festival grounds, with signage guiding the way.
– Attendees are advised to bring picnic blankets and enjoy the relaxed, family-friendly environment.
– Shuttle buses will operate regularly from the Old Mill Cultural Centre starting at 9:30 AM, included with all tickets. Departure times are 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 3:30 PM.
– Ticket options include full-day passes, allowing entry from 10:00 AM, and half-day passes from 1:00 PM.
– The festival concludes at 7:00 PM, with shuttle buses departing from Cochrane back to the Old Mill at that time.
Ticket packages, which include transportation, are as follows:
– Child (6–12 years): EC$35 (Full Day, with guardian)
– Adult: EC$35 (Half Day + Show) or EC$50 (Full Day)
– Family Pass: EC$100 (Full Day; includes 2 adults and 1 child, or 1 adult and 2 children)
– Children aged 5 and under attend free
