A shocking video which captures the moment that a young Dominican was casually executed in the Streets of Queens New York has left many baffled and the New York City Police Department (NYPD) is now in search for his killer.
In the footage, Peter Panthier Jr., 26, is seen walking alongside his killer, seemingly amiably, on Grassmere Terrace in Far Rockaway on the evening of March 26, 2022.
In a matter of seconds, the assailant pulled out a gun, shooting Panthier twice in the head which caused him to crumpled onto the sidewalk, and the killer ran off. Panthier was then rushed to the hospital but he did not survive.
Panthier, who was a former teacher in Dominica, studied Economics at the University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine College in Trinidad & Tobago. Along with his family, just over a year ago, they migrated to the US.
His mother, Joycelyn Dodds Panthier who spoke to The New York Post described her son as “extremely smart.”
“He’s really super intelligent. He tested super high on his IQ. Einstein levels,” she said of her son, who was also an actor and musician who wrote his own songs.
She implored the Mayor of New York, Eric Adams to “Fix the city. Something has to be done,” the grieving mother stated. Hold people accountable for their actions. Children are dying.”
The father of the deceased, Peter Panthier Sr., who spoke to the New York Daily News, expressed his grief over the ordeal.
“They were walking together like they were friends, and he shot him. I can’t understand it,” he stated. “He was executed. Oh my God, he was executed,” Panthier Sr., said. “This is a sick guy. It’s sad. They took his life. He was just a young man.”
According to his family, the last time he was seen alive by them was about half past five when he boarded a car which awaited him outside their home.
His family, who also stated that they were not well acquainted with his friends, had not heard of him being in any trouble.
The NYPD, who has since publicly stated that Panthier had no criminal record or was not known to be affiliated with any gangs, has issued a public appeal to anyone with information to come forward.

I don’t know the numbers for last year but for instance in 2018, the FBI reported 81% of white victims were by white offenders, and 82% of Black victims by Black offenders. The numbers hover between 80 and 90%, stop salivating, nothing to celebrate.

We are praying also that the perpetrator (perpetrators) will be caught speedily. The Crime rate in major US cities like New York City, Metro Atlanta, Chicago, Memphis, Detroit, Birmingham, St Louis etc is now very frightening. Those of us diasporeans in these areas and more…..Please be extra vigilant. Be careful with people. It’s almost as if every one is a criminal suspect until proven otherwise. SAD SAD wicked World. The unnatural demise of this potential leader of Dominica has left me with this thought. Too many bright, young and ambitious citizens have to leave Dominica to pursue greener pasture overseas because the future for them in the land of their birth is not only bleak but bone chilling dark.
The local government whether DLP, UWP or any other political party, should create the enabling economic and social environment for all to thrive, more particularly, tthe intelligent, skilful and law abiding young people.

My condolences to the family. It goes to show that we are living in a different world today from yesterday. The streets are not safe anymore and, we have to be aware of our surroundings and the friends whom we follow. We live in a dangerous world today, not just Dominica as some, like Francisco and Ibo France, might want you to believe but, it is everywhere including the cities and counties of America. Just last night in one of the cities in Maryland where I live, there were 4 hijackings with one of the hijackers being a young woman.

I think we all have to pray everyday for ourselves, our families, our relatives and friends. God answers prayers. Trust me. Keep God in your mind and soul everyday and you will see good results. Again, we live in a dangerous world today and that has nothing to do with poor leadership wherever or the grass is greener elsewhere. Just know who your friends are and be aware of your surroundings.

Bewildering, the loss of a bright young man with a bright future. So sad and and so puzzling. It took prompting from Blessings of Matt on Q95 today to reluctantly say that he thinks there is a connection Between this Panthier and Daniel Ben Panthier, who died on 26 Feb. of this year and was only buried a few days ago. Again mystery. To this day I have not seen any report how he died, in what circumstances, only that he was found dead, supposedly at Morne Daniel and apparently the police are awaiting a toxicology report from Jamaica. What is going on? Matt lives in Pointe Michel. That village was aso the residence of Dutch criminal, Ronald Pieter Nolen, who imported all these classic cars and was convicted by a court In his home country and sentenced to eight years prison in Jan. of last year. I never heard anything from Matt about this case either.
It is alleged that this foreigner was also the holder of one of our CBI passports.

My condolences to the family of this young man. What a waste of such a brilliant young life. It just serve to remind us of how evil man can be, and it is sometimes better where the grass is greener but not always safer, especially in the US.
