The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission congratulates Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) on a successful election victory and return to Government.
“The people of the Commonwealth of Dominica have spoken and, for the fifth consecutive term, they have chosen the leadership of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and the Dominica Labour Party.”
“We respect the will of the people of Dominica and offer our congratulations to Prime Minister Skerrit and the Government for another term in office,” said Dr. Jules.
I am wondering is the meaning of OECS and what are it’s principal values.
Didacus, can you tell me what was the reason; what was the cause of you all sending to Dominica RSS (Regional Security Service); in reality a foreign military force into the country ( Dominica) when there was no riot, or civil war in progress?
Roosevelt Skerrit, that dictator, his puppets, Charles Savarin, and that little rat Carbon that rubber stamp, brought foreign people into the country before election day for no other purpose than to intimidate and frighten the vulnerable. Fear Didacus can cause people to do strange things even voting for someone not of their choice.
Furthermore, I believe the ballet boxes were tampered with; in that they were stuffed with ballets favoring Roosevelt; have you and the rest of you foreign clowns congratulating Roosevelt thought of that? What about the paid importation of voters.
I agree that there are people out of Dominica legible to voting at home; nevertheless, to level the playing field, the appropriate way to absentee ballets are…
Didacus, any congratulations coming from an individual, or an organization to Roosevelt Skerrit is like shaking hands with the devil himself.
If you think that the election of December 6th 2019 was free and fair, I must inform you that something is absolutely wrong with you!
Guy, there are more people names on the voter list than Dominicans in Dominica and and the world at large.
My parents are long dead, yet their names are still on the voter list, I have relatives who never register in Dominica to vote, left Dominica in teenage years whose names are on the list.
How do you account for that?
So, my question to you is this; how can my parents be dead, and they are still voting; who votes in their name?
Man you should be damn well ashamed to congratulate anyone knowing fully well the election was indeed stolen!
You all remain in your comfort zone doing well while the Nation Dominica suffers under a corrupted dictator.
In the furtherance of democracy, why was the OECS not in support of the people of the commonwealth of Dominica? When you people know full well that this skerrit character is extremely corrupt! This organization in my opinion has no teeth and is a waste of time to the people of the OECS.
We were tear gassed
Based on the comments of the supporters of the losing party, it would appear that they cannot lose gracefully and accept defeat. They keep talking about non resident voters coming in to cast their votes as cheating. They should be reminded that all the developed countries allow their non resident citizens to participate in their elections. They even allow for postal voting in order not to disenfranchise them. The fact that UWP spent thousands going all over the world to try and persuade Dominicans to come and vote for them and were rejected cannot be blamed on Skerrit. UWP as a party has been tainted by their lawlessness, misinormation and violence during the campaign and need rebranding under new leadership.

Kalinago in-justice, I’m sure you brought out a chuckle from all who read the bit where you mentioned ‘disrespect for the rule of law’. You probably was one of those who went about unlawfully blocking roads, setting fires, damaging property and violently threatening others who didn’t support your party during the election campaign. It would appear that to you, Lennox and UWP that such behaviour is within the definition of the rule of law.
On behalf of the people of Dominica, I say, thanks to you, Sir. We know that our choice will continue to provide for us, the contentment that we need, as we walk the way of Life, in Dominica.
I have perceived and spiritually inspired to believe that Prime Minister, Sir Roosevelt Skerrit, is a man who knows the ways of God, but that perception & inspiration became the fundamental truth of my mind on the Eve of the general election.
I know that through that knowledge, in the mind of PM Skerrit, he continues his work on behalf of the people, for the glory of God. For that reason, God continues to find favor with him.
I know that we, the people of Dominica, did not just love PM Skerrit, he earned our love by his display of God’s love in him
O God, we give You thanks & praise. Please continue to give us the reasons to exemplify Your Love for the World to see. In Jesus’ name, who is Your Christ, Your Person of Love, Your Son in the flesh. Amen!

Dr. Didacus Jules, I understand you and I agree with you that the people of Dominica have spoken and as a result I understand your congratulations. However, as a Dominican residing here I cannot congratulate anyone that stole. Stealing is wrong and no doubt the election was rigged and stolen. First of all someone has to tell me where a poor country like Dominica got so much money to pay international artists and gospel singers for free entertainment. In like manner someone has to tell me where Skerrit got so much money to bring down so many people in the diaspora for free. If passport money is the answer then who are the buyers? Isn’t unaccounted money referred to money laundering and proceed of crime? We heard the all Jazeera documentary and I now ask myself why did the police commissioner ask Skerrit to account for all the monies seen in the campaign. That money is too black for my liking and looks too much like money laundering and I cannot congratulate thievery.
You are a biased, corrupt and evil man. You all are birds of the same feathers. You are aware of the need for Electoral Reform in Dominica yet you join hands with a corrupt, inept, despot and rouge regime. You all are just concerned about having power over poor and helpless people and are becoming dictators. Skerrit will stay in power at any cost and is not really concerned about the people’s progress and well being. You are aware that the election was rigged, yet you will not stand up against evil. I have no confidence in people like you all who control the minds of people to make yourselves look good. You all appear so innocent and use your Psychology on the people to stay in power. Unless there is Electoral Reform in Dominica, a prime minister, under whose leadership has caused most of the closure of companies, will be in power for the rest of his life. But you know what? you all days are numbered and the evil that men do, lives with them.

Look at the number of persons who voted… It speaks volumes.. People are not satisfied with neither of the parties.

I would say congratulations but I don’t like the fact that you bring down people to vote . Anyway my double doctor we the people of Dominica are gonna hold your feet to the fire by all the promises you made. We want our international Airport, marigot hospital, fix our roads and bridges and the list go on and on. You know for yourself all the promises you and your wife made.
