Organizers make group discount rate available for greater accessibility to weekend’s staging of STREAK!

The Alwin Bully Foundation Inc. is commemorating a notable milestone with the Golden Jubilee production of the play “STREAK,” which coincides with the 77th birthday of the renowned playwright, Alwin Bully. The Foundation acknowledged in a media release that this special event celebrates the significant contributions of Bully to Caribbean theatre and culture.

However, the organization also indicated that due to the high expenses involved in mounting this production and the limited availability of adequate stage and auditorium facilities in various communities, it regrets that it cannot present the anniversary performance of “STREAK” in local communities as it traditionally did during the 1970s. Despite this, in response to numerous requests from residents in rural areas eager to experience the play, the Foundation is encouraging community members to organize transportation through local bus operators. To facilitate access, the Foundation will provide concessionary ticket rates for groups of ten or more individuals, making the performances more attainable for enthusiastic audiences.

The Alwin Bully Foundation Inc. also expressed heartfelt appreciation to patrons, private sector organizations, and individuals whose generous support contributed to the successful staging of “STREAK” on November 1 and 2, saying that their involvement has rekindled interest in revitalizing the theatre movement within Dominica.

Described as a production for audiences across the Caribbean, “STREAK” underscores a vital message: that the challenges faced by one island are, in essence, issues shared across the Caribbean region.

For those seeking further details on ticketing and group rates, the Foundation advises interested parties to contact Mrs. Anita Bully at 277-3971 or Ms. Gloria Augustus at 245-9795.
