Minister for Culture, Gretta Roberts, has described Dominica’s performance at the CARIFESTA XV ‘Country Night’ held in Barbados last night as “outstanding”.
Dominica is being represented by a 72-member team at this year’s CARIFESTA XV, scheduled to take place in Barbados from August 22 to 31.
“Dominica brought the energy to CARIFESTA XV with an outstanding cultural presentation at Country Night,” she told the media. “Culture 101, a blend of music and dance depicting Dominica’s formation [from] its inhabitants, to present-day music.”
She continued, “What a celebration it was as Dominicans and Caribbean people alike danced, sang, and waved their flags in full support, making the night truly a night to remember.”
Roberts thanked the Chief Cultural Officer and his team for demonstrating to the world that culture is alive in Dominica.
“I also must convey special thanks to our youth who came out in large numbers after a very tiring day, I must admit. And they came to join in the celebration,” she stated.
