Dominica’s last Carnival season experienced a noteworthy 34 percent surge in visitor arrivals, bringing in XCD 25 million in circulation to the local economy and cementing the occasion as a highly-anticipated annual event in the country, according to organizers.
As the excitement for the upcoming Mas Domnik 2026 builds, officials announced during a recent press conference hosted by the Discover Dominica Authority that the festivities will formally kick off on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with the Official Opening and National Parade.
“Mas Domnik is one of the most anticipated events on Dominica’s calendar with direct impact on economic activity, employment, and visitor arrivals,” Gerard Cools-Lartigue, Chair of the Dominica Festivals Committee, stated.
Emphasizing the significance of Mas Domnik in shaping the nation’s cultural and economic landscape, Cools-Lartigue said, “The Board continues to focus on strong governance, effective coordination, and ongoing improvements to ensure the festival’s success.”
Meanwhile, Marva Williams, Chief Executive Officer of the Discover Dominica Authority, highlighted the 2025 season’s robust performance and ambitious plans.
“Building on last season’s impressive results, Mas Domnik 2026 will feature over forty events across the island,” Williams explained. ” These figures set a high standard and motivate us to focus on stronger organization, greater creativity, and wider participation this season.”
Running from December 13, 2025, to February 26, 2026, organizers promise that Mas Domnik 2026 will be a vibrant array of festivities that showcase Dominica’s rich cultural heritage.
With more than 40 events planned across the island, they invite residents and visitors to participate in the highlights of the season.
