Parl Rep Roland Royer says Clifton Back Road proves no community is left behind

Agriculture Minister Roland Royer

Parliamentary Representative for the Cottage Constituency, Roland Royer, has announced that the commissioning of the $1.2 million-dollar Clifton Back Road is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to ensuring that no community, regardless of size, is left behind.

His comments came during a commissioning ceremony held on Wednesday.

The project, which began in late 2024, reportedly included 400 meters of roadway rehabilitation, including new slipper drains, retaining walls, culverts, and the replacement of the main water line. It is funded by the Government of Dominica and Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) 10 program.

“It is with great pride and gratitude that I stand before you today for the commissioning of the Clifton Back Road, a project made possible by the government of Dominica, Basic Needs Trust Fund, and administered by the Caribbean Development Bank,” he said. “ I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the BNTF Country Office and the Ministry of Community Development for organizing this important ceremony.”

He continued, “For the residents, it means safer access, improved connectivity and a better quality of life,” Royer said. “It is a tangible sign of developing and reaching right to your doorsteps.”

Royer also recognized the Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO), which invested an additional $100,000 in new water lines, “ensuring that this project meets not just our transportation needs, but also strengthens vital infrastructure for residents.”

Well, is the Pope a Catholic Hon. Parl Rep Royer? Go do a road in Salisbury and then come back with the headline to prove no community is left behind. Thank you.

Petite Savanne has gotten one of the largest pieces of the pie through a complete relocation, new works on the road linking it to Point Mulatre, and support for its bayoil farmers. So, inform yourself before opening your mouth!
