According to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, the recently held Dominica Labour Party (DLP) National Council Meeting was “very successful”.
He made the remark during a live interview on State-Owned Radio DBS on Monday morning.
The meeting was convened ahead of the party’s delegates’ conference to be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Vieille Case.
“I must say that we had a very successful National Council Meeting that was held in the Salybia Constituency,” he said. “We had full representation from every constituency.”
He added that the meeting was very engaging.
“There are a number of items on the agenda,” he stated.
He continued, “The party has mandated the drafting of a new constitution and that draft was presented to the national council and the national council directed that there be wider and broader consultation within the party.”
Skerrit explained that there will be a series of consultations that will take place in the next weeks and months across the length and breadth of the country to engage party constituency associations, youth, stalwarts, among others.
“…Following which there may be a special National Council Meeting to receive the final draft of the new constitution of the party,” he explained.
Furthermore, he indicated that the second resolution was for the unveiling of the party’s flag.
12. 20 yrs ago, Dominicans didn’t need a visa to go to England. Today, due to what Skerrit used our CBI passport to do, we now need a visa to go to England and in the coming months we will be under more restrictions from former friendly countries
13. We are now witnessing the destruction of Wesley in the name of a fake international airport that will never become a reality, even if it is built, just as the Layou river hotel, the coffee factory, the Moracan hotel in cabrits, and many more projects where our CBI monies were dumped.
So when we look back to the last 24 yrs what we cannot miss is how Skerrit carefully and systematically destroyed our country, maybe at the point of no return, just to protect him and his cronies from their corruption . Every dam thing we had is now gone and all we are left with are scars and skeletons of destruction of Roosevelt Skerrit.
I didn’t even talk about the once powerful religious body he met and today those same churches are Dens of thieves
Let me add three more woes of Roosevelt Skerrit on Dominica in his 20 years of destruction.
10 I give Skerrit credit for the EO Leblanc road he widened and resurfaced with cheap and labor from China. When I think of what the storms did to it It’s clear that it was no blessing. Less than 5 years after we saw 3 major bridges collapsed . Layou bridge, Macoushrie bridge and Batalie bridge all because of poor work by China, where culverts were blocked, drains had nowhere to let water out and just a look good on surface job but very bad job
11. I give Skerrit credit for decriminalized ganja. But because it was rushed, nothing was put in place to protect our youth. So as his legacy we have almost 75% of our youth boys from elementary smoking ganja, young people dropping out of school, many have turned into beggars and Paros with no rehab center or good mental health care. Our young girls are not so much better as many are on drugs, alcohol and all they know is the next sewo, no future
So after Skerrit buried both Rosie and Pierro to become Pm, he signed a secret MOU with China, gave Ralph our international airport , got rid of Ross University that brought Subway, KFC, Whitchurch, Ritual, NCB, Scotia bank and Flow to Picard. He forced Royal Bank, Bank Fracaise, Scotia Bank and Barclays Bank to all flee from Da as if in terror!
6. He met a strong banana industry that created employment for many of us and that too disappeared
7. What about the coconut industry, copra, Palmolive soaps and toothpaste that were on the US shelves with Made in Dominica labels?
8. Not enough time to talk about Bello products that he also met and couldn’t keep
9. A strong and healthy nation with PMH and good local doctors that he turned into China hospital and a very sick and unhealthy people
9. A strong cricketing culture played in every village, football, netball , rounders, basketball nation he met, Today, village cricket, league cricket cannot be seen in no damn community! Way the
let’s just deal with 20 yrs ago to see how Skerrit daycalay our country with many woes:
1. We had a well loved PM by the name of Roosevelt Rosie Douglas and a well loved deputy by the name of Pierre Charles. All I will say is within their first term in office both gentlemen were under severe pressure from the inside Devil, and both died a kind of death and Skerrit , a then junior minister attended both funerals as if he was the one officiating. So Skerrit became PM hmmm.
2. We had everything in place for an international airport and somehow he gave it to Ralph.
3. He then signed a very dark deal with China and up to now no one knows what is in that MOU, except that we see China taking over.
4. He met Ross University, with over 1000 students and creating employment for over a thousand Dominicans and he drove out Ross and left us broke and jobless.
5. He met us with NCB, Barclays, Scotia, Royal and bank Fracais and all flee except NCB he has in ICU on life support, because of…
Change it to suit your whims. Surely it wont be opposed because you own the parliament. And those clowns and fools in your camp have to sing for their supper, even if your new constitution goes against their own morals and values. Evil in high places is still evil.
Once again, may I say thanks to DNO (Dominica News Online) for keeping us who are far away updated. I may comment on every post, but I am glad to have the information.
