The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Independence Street in Roseau on Sunday night (February 15), resulting in the death of a young man. (Update: The man has been identified as Arthur Bozel.)
Details are sketchy at this time.
However, Dominica News Online (DNO) will provide more details as they become available.
DNO extends condolences to the friends and loved ones of Mr. Bozel.
While the clueless, unalphabetical National Insecurity lawbreakers are occupied with giving unbridled enthusiasm to destroying billboards, criminals are committing murder. The priorities of these hoodlums (‘police’) are misplaced.
Hmmm. As usual no immediate information and details are sketchy. But truth is, another young man has been killed in a country with such a small population. With all these murders that the police always seem to be investigating, are they not seeing an anything that could be a possible trend and together with what passing as government , formulate a plan to conquer it? I’m sorry but I am not seeing a real plan from the police and government to combat the amount of crimes committed in this small island of fewer than 65,000 people

I was fervently hoping that this carnival season would have been incident free. But, as I always say, there is never a dull day in Dominica.
When a man unnaturally loses his life it’s particularly gut-wrenching. Another young man has idiotically lost his life. Wishing the family of the deceased peace and comfort during their time of bereavement.
How do you know that this incident is carnival related? It happened on Sunday night not during actual carnival celebrations. So unless you can come up with incidents that happened during carnival celebrations, then, carnival 2026 can be classed as incident free. The Police presence on the streets during the two days might have contributed to an incident free carnival this year. You should be applauding the Police for their effort/contribution that you were able to enjoy carnival safely and peacefully. Other Caribbean nationals come to enjoy our carnival because of its peaceful nature and the world famous BOUYON MUSIC. let’s keep it this way for future celebrations. Carnival is a vital tourism product, especially for visitors from our neighbouring islands.
