Police officer Direl Etienne of Point Carib was arrested and charged with the possession of 1100 grams of cocaine and possession with intent to supply.
According to police sources, he appeared before a Roseau Magistrate’s court today where the charges were read to him.
Etienne pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Prosecution had no objection to bail. Therefore, he was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 with his father as surety.
According to previous police reports, the cocaine was discovered at the home of the accused during a drug operation on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Etienne is being represented by attorneys Wayne Norde and Gina Abraham-Thomas.

This incident further erodes the confidence of the public in the already tarnished, underperforming CDPF. This once universally revered organization is now considered to be just a concoction of driver happy, stone throwing, semi polluter ate thugs and hoodlums.
Instead of recruiting the best and the brightest from society mostly low caliber school dropouts, loyalists of Roosevelt, are recruited.
Is that why Lennox Linton can never be recruited as the next PM of Dominica? Because he is a low-caliber high school drop out and that Dominica only needs the best and the brightest.

Police officer,this guy is a disgrace and he should not be bailed.We harassed civilians and made them pay so much money for drugs,now that corrupt police selling drugs.How come DNO doe tell us the value of the cocaine,the sum of his bail should be 7 times the value of the cocaine.

He was granted bail? But if he was demonstrating against bad governance of this very corrupt country, would he be granted bail?
What about the police that was pelting stones at protestors? Is he still in uniform? Bad leadership, corrupt governance coupled with greed, have the country in tatters.

The CDPF is now a corrupt, political, my parl rep institution that has driven most the well intentioned officers away.
