Police officers in Coulibistrie /Morne Rachette to be redirected to Salisbury district

Rayburn Blackmoore addressing press conference on Friday

Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore has announced that plans are in place to redirect police officers serving in the districts of Coulibistrie and Morne Rachette to the Salisbury Police District.

He made the announcement during a press briefing held on Friday.

“We have to continue to look at how we do some redistricting, police redistricting, and that falls within the level of competence of whoever the minister is,” he said. “ And I think the time has come  for us to rationalize our approach and not rationalize the service, but the approach to allow for better deployment and better efficiency.”

Blackmoore mentioned that in the past, recommendations were made to collapse some police stations/districts into other police districts, “And we’re currently looking at the community of Coulibistrie and Morne Rachette to be collapsed [into] the police district of Salisbury.”

According to Blackmoore, this means that officers will be transferred to the village of Salisbury, which is a very busy community.

“And that is not being done without meeting with the people and consulting with the people,” he stated.

He noted that the member of Parliament for the Salisbury constituency supports the move.

Lincoln Corbette addressing press conference on Friday

Meanwhile, Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette explained that with the collapsing of the two areas, a total of six officers will be available to serve members of the public.

He emphasized that the upgrade is necessary to increase the staff and will consist of, “one sergeant, two corporals, and three constables.”

Corbette also shared that there will be a significant upgrade of police vehicles.

“Salisbury will have a dedicated vehicle to serve the area of Salisbury, Coulibistrie, and Morne Rachette,” he revealed.

Boy Em Ba La,you are really a UWP puppets.Rayburn Blackmore is a former police sergeant who spent years in CID,He is a university graduate. The problem is redistricting or no redistricting the police of today are lazy, very lazy.Right now the inspector in the St.Joseph district is incharge of St.Joseph,Salisbury,Coulibistrie and Mahaut.I can bet the police do not know any where in their district except the main village.Desason,Despore,Atlee, crown,Warner,Aregool,Zocotar,GrosMorne,Petit Macouchrie,Bwed,Montlook,Gingerette,Carholm. The police before UWP deycallay the force, knew every inch of their district, because there were district BUSH patrol.I doe think my friend Blackmore knows what is going on.If a police station have 8 officers every weekend 4 are off from Friday and police officers do not investigate a matter if they do not have a vehicle. The force need dedicated police officers who love policing, and not political police officers.

Hot debate. What do you think? Thumb up 6 Thumb down 4

      @Lin Clown
Experience can be the greatest teacher but not all experience is good. Blackmoore had a lot of experience in the CID doing the wrong things – botching investigations, using excessive force, abusing his position, and other similar infractions.

The man cannot even manage a lemonade stand. He can’t even put two coherent sentences together.

DNO help me here with this

    1. What are Blackmoore’s qualification for him to be Minister of National Security?

    2. Did he actually say that?
“And we’re currently looking at the community of Coulibistrie and Morne Rachette to be collapsed [into] the police district of Salisbury.”

    3. Who voted Blackmoore.
    4. Why would you all decide to consult with the people AFTER you all have already made the decision.

What is the distance from Salisbury police station to the areas that they are talking about?

if the police building building is DAO damaged I. these areas why not like you all’s usual self of paying people to have government offices in their homes to have a similar situation in this case.

was any thought thought given to the population and police ratio? what is up with this? This would have to go to parliament amend this and making it official.

these guys need to stop or refrain from making CABINET decisions..

these guys need to stop chat chat chat chat…

Rayburn Blackmoore is a butcher by profession. He butchers the English language.
