The SUV in which the suspects were travelling

Two men who, according to police, were involved in armed robberies in Salybia on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, have surrendered to law enforcement.

Police said on Tuesday that Javid Alfred and Celsey Anselm were wanted for the robbery, at gunpoint, of a shop owner and a Springfield trading delivery truck.

According to the report, the police confronted the men which resulted in the shooting death of Alfred Davidson who was driving the SUV in which the suspects tried to escape before it crashed into a DOMLEC pole.

New information from the police which DNO received a short while ago, indicates that the men went to police headquarters with their lawyers.

According to the information, Anselm surrendered on Tuesday, June 16, and Alfred gave himself up earlier today, Wednesday, June 17.

    Mum, dad, I can explain. I can’t wait to hear the lawyer present this defence. By the way,in the US, if you are involved in the commission of a crime and someone dies, you are charged with their murder. Shoot out with the police? I really want to hear the explanations.

    @ds
    When anything positive happens in the country, which is not as often as most people would like, Mr. Skerrit is quick to take credit and blow his own trumpet.

    Shouldn’t he and his cabal be blamed for the astronomically high joblessness? Blame should be squarely laid at his feet for the rapidly rising crime rate; the ballooning vagrancy; the unlivable, starvation wages; tarpaulin covered house roofs; the woefully inadequate healthcare system; the most corrupt electoral system; the lack of domestic abuse, psychiatric and drug rehabilitation facilities; no international airport. I could continue for an eternity listing this distressing pattern of futility.

    Dominicans have to snap out of their sheep-like mentality and WISE UP❗

    Boy look rotten teeth we have in this little country. Police killed one yesterday, two surrender today, Skerrit that is the biggest rotten teeth is still at large, Blessing told us of a friend of Linton and former president of CCM that is himself a rotten teeth and since Blessing told listeners of Q95 of a friend of Linton that use to call pm all kinds of names, is now a rotten teeth, then I guess Linton too is a rotten teeth and is just a matter of time before Blessing expose him too. Boy look rotten teeth’s. One thing I not going to help Blessing and Copel perform no surgery without on PM to remove his rotten teeth and replace him with those rotten teeth Blessing and Copel told us about in UWP. Copel no injection without injection on pm because loftus and Linton have the same problem as pm. So I prefer to stay with a person that we all know is a rotten teeth than to replace him with sets of rotten teeths too

    @ Ibo France, so why do you and your other thugs blame Skerrit for everything that goes wrong. Why don’t you tell these thugs to get a job.

    Armed robbery is a very serious offence. I’m happy that no more lives were lost as the bandits surrendered.

    No matter how tough life gets, work honestly for what you need.

    I hope this incident would teach like minded thugs a lesson.

      I agree with you being happy that no more lives were not lost, I do hope the other two receives long, long prison terms not only to send a message, but to prevent them from ever being able to commit such heinous crimes.

      But my concern is with the prosecutorial capacity, as has been demonstrated in the past in Dominica: either criminals are too often set free, or they are never caught. This it sure make it seem like these criminals can afford defenders who are more capable than the capacity in the AG’s office.
