Police Week 2025 moved to November 15-23

Lincoln Corbette addressing press briefing

Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette has announced that  ‘Police Week’ has been moved to November 15-23 this year.

He made the announcement during a press conference on Friday.

Initially, Corbette announced a packed week of activities for ‘Police Week’ to be celebrated from September 21- 28, however, he said due to “logistical reasons’ it was pushed to November.

“I know we had mentioned a date, but because of logistical reasons, we had to move Police Week back to the 15th,” he revealed. “So after the independence celebrations on the 15th of November to the 23rd of November, we will celebrate ‘Police Week’ this year.”

According to Corbette, the Police are occupied with various initiatives at this time.

This, he said, includes training and working hard to get rid of illegal firearms.

“So that really got in the way of us having it in September, but we shall have ‘Police Week’ this year under the same theme,” Corbette stated.

Police Week 2025 will be celebrated under the theme: “Serving with Pride, Protecting with Purpose.”

Now you hearing about police pelting stones, boy you are out dated, police pelting stones is nothing new.
Mr MEME you are smarter than all the rest,I agree the police today are way off target.Give the police something for police week,in the past police use to get bag of dasheen, bag of shoe(Tania)bay of Yam,bunch of fig, bunch of bananas, orange, grapefruit and more. The best Mr.MEME,WE,yes we use to get a BULL from Mr.Daniel Green minus the head and 4 legs, that was in the 70’s.Now,Bwa-Banday Labour power(not the fake one) is ONE of those who have Dominica as quiet and peaceful as it is today.90% of security officers do not care if Ash Wednesday is on a Saturday, dey more slack than Yellow pantyhose.Today people can deposit money in the bank without security. When I see people leaving their garden with tons of agricultural produce I smile. The police like Evans John,Nicholas George,Philsbert Alfred,Kelvin Albert,Gabriel St.Jean,Green CR,Patrickson Albert,Cyprien Defoe and Labour power.

Will we have police officers pelting stones at people during police week?
I saw it at a protest, and this was disgraceful, shameful and highly unprofessional.

Will it be police week or police tricks???
As far as i know, this CDPF is politically broken, to the extent that a large part of the public don’t trust the police, and don’t want to work with the police. Top management is terrible, and generally, the CDPF is operating way below the level of a professional force.

This is just a reflection of how terrible management of the force is. illigal firearms have been an issue for over a year and you did not just wake up this week and realized you had a lot of stuff going on. if that is the case we have some real Jack A at the head.

The CDPF suffers from low morale, low public support, low solve rate, high incompetence, high corruption, high on brutality. Consequently, the planned week of activities had to be postponed due to scant public disaffection with the abysmal performance of the police.

The CDPF performs for an audience of one. They DO NOT serve at the behest of the people.
