Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security Dr Irving McIntyre while representing the prime minister at the official opening ceremony of ‘Police Week’ 2024, encouraged police officers to continue to serve and protect with fairness, integrity, and courage.
The ceremony was held at the Police Headquarters on Monday.
The activities for police week began on Sunday, September 29, with a church service in St Joseph and will culminate on October 5, 2024.
“This week and beyond I encourage each of you to recommit to the ideals you embraced when you joined the police force to serve and protect with fairness, integrity, courage, empathy, and compassion, always striving to maintain societal order, public safety, and community trust,” he encouraged.
According to Dr. McIntyre, the importance of community cannot be overemphasized.
“Building strong trusting relations with the public fosters cooperation and creates a safer, more cohesive environment for effective policing,” he stated. “Your theme for this week’s observance reflects this and I urge you to continue pursuing community engagement, through open days, exhibitions, and outreach programs.”
Furthermore, he said strengthening the bonds between the police and the community is essential, “and I look forward to seeing your community policing program grow as you continue to meet the needs of the citizens that you serve.”
A gospel night is planned for Tuesday, October 1. On Wednesday, October 2, the police will hold a block meeting in Grandbay and a ‘history night’ on Thursday, October 3.

The morning of Saturday, October 5 there will be a fitness festival and events will culminate on Saturday night.
Police week 2024 is celebrated under the theme “Embracing Communities, Building Partners for A Better Tomorrow”.
There are good police officers in the police force however when senior officers are allegedly involved in human trafficking with state resources and still remain in the force there will never be trust. When police can help politicians son’s leave country after being involved in a road fatality there will never be trust
The police force needs to clean itself and some heads need to vacate the people’s institution. To restore trust Corbett needs to leave and some of those inspector pot chambre need to leave. You cannot lower your standards for stupidity and expect compliance. How do we trust you to not contaminate evidence, and to present facts in criminal cases. evil will walk free worst innocent people can lose thier freedom. Those retards they have in special branch need to go get a real life instead of being house slaves. You guys know darn well the status quo cannot continue. It will implode at some point.
POLICE WEAK.
POLICE WEAK
The most politically infested, ineffective, dunce, stupid, illiterate, and failed police force Dominica has ever had.
Leadership is both disgraceful and pathetic.
The force is drifting far out at sea. It has no leadership!
POLICE WEAK
POLICE WEAK
DOMINICA POLICE WEAK!
Police Weak!
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) has been reduced to just a dysfunctional cartel that operates at the strictest command of an evil dictator. They act with brute force and employ intimidating tactics to anyone who dares to protest, even peacefully, against the corrupt and undemocratic policies of the government.
They are strong physically but feeble and weak mentally and intellectually. Many can’t write nor speak coherently. This is one of the primary reasons for the DPP/prosecution has to withdraw/dismiss charges or invoke nolle prosequi.
The strength of an effective police force lies in recruitment. The best and the brightest must be attracted and recruits from the society. You CANNOT expect to recruit school dropouts or members from the bottom of the barrel in the community and get a vibrant, efficacious organization.
