Dominica Broadcasting Corporation (DBS) is gearing up to host the 16th edition of the ‘DBS Radio Felix Henderson Ministry of Education National Reading Competition’.
The competition is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus.
“This year’s theme resonates with the milestone celebration of 16 years since the competition’s inception,” said Ronillia Williams, the competition coordinator. “Participants will be given the opportunity to share their interpretation of written materials through the art of reading.”
She further stated that their artistic capabilities will be demonstrated through exploring themes in Literature.
Williams also mentioned that the eagerness of schools to participate is a testament that this initiative has reached its objectives of promoting education among children at the earliest age possible, while preparing them for higher learning.
“Over the years, DBS Radio extended invitation to all eligible students to participate in one of the most educated and exciting competitions launched at targeting and identifying brilliant minds at early childhood education level,” she noted.
Emphasizing that this competition would not have taken flight without the vision of Mr. Felix Henderson, the support of Mrs. Mariette Warrington, and the management, she said that their perseverance and determination ensured that it came to fruition.
“DBS continues collaborations with the Ministry of Education on this journey of arming our young and intriguing minds for the academic arena,” Williams added.
